some one hit my car and I had to buy a new side view mirror assembly

I don't think it should be a hard job but I would just like a little direction

also I just bought a new taillight assembly if some one could also help me with directions for replacing that too that would be great.

I'm just trying to have a little more ownership of my car and reduce costs of living in a city that is always causing damage to my vehicle.

Real easy.

Pop the triangle cover off.

Remove three nuts.

Disconnect the connector.

Install is reverse.

The hard part is keeping your kayaks from knocking 'em off!! :P

I'm also trying to replace a mirror. Thanks for the info.

One question - do you have to take the interior door panel off in order to access the power mirror connector?

Thanks!

^Nope, the connector is not in the door. Once you pop off the triangle "sail" and unscrew the mirror the connector should be visible. The side mirrors are probably one of the easiest things to replace on these cars.

OK. I was forcing that round metal thing that looks like a connector (at the very base of the mirror shell) and I couldn't get it to come off. Looks like I should force it harder :)

Actually, I will wait until I get my replacement mirror so I can see where the existing cable is supposed to connect and that will give me a pretty good hint as to where the connector actually fastens.

Thanks.

^Thats the best idea. Its a lot easier to show it in person than to describe it with words.

Just an FYI in case anyone comes across this... if the mirror is power you will indeed need to at least partially remove the door trim! The plug is within the interior portion of the trim and I suppose if you pried it away on just the part below the sail (triangle speaker part) you could maybe not have to remove the trim... but it's best to remove the entire trim to avoid snapping anything. I was hoping this wasn't true, but it sadly is - just had to replace my own.
