How to refinish wheels

Does anyone have a good idea or method on how to refinish wheels. I have an MP3 and each wheel has some road rash and arn't in great condition. I would love to paint them or have them even powder coated (pipe dream due to $$$).

I guess I'm wondering what I should do to prep them so the paint is smooth and even, and what a good paint for wheels would be.

Doesn't go into the sanding of the road rash but I'm sure a good bit of grinding/sanding will smooth out the lip.

I've actually been wanting to do this for a little while now. I'll probably do it this weekend and post up some pics of the project.

just make sure u sand the s*** out of your rims before you spray the primer and paint, the better u sand, the smoother the paint and the longer it lasts
