Alright, done it to my 2 Pro5's, and, have had requests on how it's done. Sorry I don't have pics, but, if anyone does this and takes pics in the process, I'd be happy to add em to this for a referance.
So, here we go.
You'll be starting with a bumper that looks like this
What you'll need:
1 can of matte black spray paint-(I used Krylon BBQ black)
1 roll of blue painters tape
1 Sunday Newspaper
1 Piece red scotchbrite pad(or anything abrasive actually)
First,
go to the hardware store and pick up a can of (I used Krylon BBQ flat black) that I had leftover from blacking out my headlights. Also, a roll of blue painters tape and a Sunday newspaper.
Second,
take that blue tape you just bought and line the outside line of the valance. I'm not so skilled with it, so, I used A LOT of small pieces to go around the curved ends.
Once you've got it all taped off,
sand down the valance. I didn't go extreme. I just got a nice even scuff. Then, wiped it down with a wet rag to wipe off any particles left behind during the sanding.
I then went ahead and added the newspaper and pretty much covered the whole backend of the car. Then, slide the bag the newspaper came in over your tailpipe.
Once you're all masked off,
Hit it with the first coat of paint. Give it 15 minutes or so until it's dry to the touch, then, hit it with coat number 2.
After dry, pull your baggie off the pipe, and pull the masking off. You should now have a bumper that looks like this.
Hope this helps someone, and happy painting to all!! Post up any pics if you've got em of in process or finished!!
