How To: Painting Pro5 rear valence

No need to sand w/ Krylon Fusion.

I knew I found that pic on this board! Phoenix, I printed a pic of your car as my guide. Just couldn't remember whose car it was. Thanks!!

eeek i hate the idea of painting something on my car, what if the overspray soaks through your newpaper or something? Personally, Id rather spend the extra money on a dg valance and sleep at night knowing I didnt nor was there any chance of getting overspray all over the back of my hatch

You're spraying WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much if you think the paint is gonna soak through the newspaper. It only takes 2-3 light coats. Gotta redo the white one, I hit one spot longer than the rest, so, it's shinier there. So, I'll have "in process pics" hopefully Monday.

I don't have to worry about anyone banging up the CF or it yellowing. Mine starts to fade, spray it again!!

dammit, too bad i cant put a wagon bumper on my 00 sedan........ or can i(sssh)

It's not a wagon. It's a Sport Hatch!!(freak)

Mazda calls it a 5 door hatchback.
Arizona DMV calls it a 4 door hatchback.
My Insurance lists it as a 4 door hatchback

Unknowing public calls it a wagon.

If you can't beat them join them.

I have a sticker on my back window that reads.

YOU JUST GOT PASSED BY A WAGON! :)

Nice! I would put that, but, my hatchback is stock. No motor mods other than an exhaust, so, pretty much everything passes me. :( Also, did the taillight tints cause much of a reduction in the brake light visibility? I'm really liking that!!

And your magnaflow is very dirty.

I might have to do this eventually, I love how it looks! But the only thing holding me back is that it's irreversible unless you get the entire bumper repainted.

Well if you like the look, but hated your paintjob after the fact, you could always purchase the carbon fiber insert for the bumper. Course, that's the more expensive route which I plan on doing, since I have a carbonfiber theme going and all. I dont want to overdo it though which is why that little insert is a nice addon.

I have to say though, I like the way these are coming out!

LOL

Its been snowing off and on for the last two weeks. Its been too cold to wash the car by hand so that was a drive through pressure washer car wash job to get the road grime off.

As for the tails they are from www.rockblocker.com If you don't do graphics or tint on a regular basis then I'd suggest having a proffessional apply the rockblocker film on the tail lights. Their shape makes it a difficult task.

As for vilibility of my tails I have no issues. I have had other people drive my car at night and in the day time and I can see my lights just fine.

Snapped a shot yesterday of both cars outside my wife's work.

yea i just did this, i like the way it looks and it gives it a nice look
kinda had a run on it but ill sand and repaint it later to have it all smooth

Once you get the run out, post up some pics! I'd like to see what it looks like on the midnight blue!

Also, we were behind a white Pro5 today at a light and Callie, my wife, outof the blue tells me, "Yeah, the car REALLY needs that section painted black! Mine looks sooooo much nicer!"

I just chuckled and said "You're welcome."
