so I got my LEDs in this week and installed them all yesterday...except for the Map Lights...what gives?!
As your directions say, I simply tried pulling out the plastic housing from the edge and it felt like it was going to crack into pieces...I tried using a screwdriver with a soft cloth and I wasn't getting anywhere...I checked the manual and it said"
"Due to the complexity of this procedure please see your Mazda dealer to get ripped off like a common fool"
Great. The last thing I want to do it break something stupid like this.
Anyone else have any luck with the map lights? All the other installs were easy as turning on the radio, (except for the glovebox which I'm skipping all together).
Any advice here would be appreciated.
how would red bulbs work for the interior? blue seems harsh, white boring, and red matches the theme they already have going on with the lighting?

Has anyone out there modified the LED in the guage clusters to make them brighter and light up the circle brighter??? I am desperate to find this done somewhere and or if there is a thread about it. Anyone ever tried it? I think making the whole circle ring light up blue would rock!
Also, mine aren't as bright as his, simply due to the fact that he is using the WLED-x6 LED bulb instead of the ones he tells us to get (WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb), shame on him!!
I noticed that too! He says WLED-x5 but when he shows the bulb they are WLED-x6!!!! Glad to know you noticed that the brighter would be the x6 because I have been holding off on ordering these for weeks because I wanted to make sure I got the right bulbs. I will be ordering the x6 then for sure!
Anyone tried buying the BRIGHT WHITE or COOL WHITE color for interior? I have done blue things before and it usually is pretty dark inside, but brigth ass white lights up the interior much better! I was just wondering because even tho blue or red looks SICK, I would prefer white if it's brighter
I don't know the difference between them, but I know in normal light bulbs BRIGHT WHITE is slightly BLUISH and SOFT WHITE is more closer to the normal average bulbs we use. So I guess SOFT WHITE is closer to a normal white color.
Yes, I don't really know the difference, but I am thinkin about ordering a few other lightbulbs from the LED store and perhaps posting a second section on LEDS that will work with our car, but will provide a more bright or stronger look. I will try other colors and post pictures, for now though I will grab some amber x-5 WIDE LEDS (the ones he says to buy, but he did not post pictures of) pictures and post them.

I think the point of the wide ones are to not project forward like the other ones, but to cover a lot of area so it reflects well off the lense of the light socket. So maybe I too should buy some x6 and x5
Actually, i put in the wide x5s and they dont spread very well. specifically they are not sticking out far enough to project, so the x6s are better.
