How-To: LED Interior / Reverse / Licence plate lights

Well, finally pulled the pin and got a set of WLED 6 for the maps and 1 2-LED High power bulb for the overhead and a couple WLED 5's for the licence plate light. We'll see how it goes.

you'll love it. I still love mine after however long it's been. I love getting into my car every time!

yeahhhhhhhh boyyyyy

niiice bro....which lights did you get? hyper white, cool white, blue?? i really dont know the names hehe
is it the same color for the license plate?

that is pretty sweet... (above ms3 pic).

anyone figure out my earlier post from like 3 months ago,,, why do the instructions tell u take out the kick-plate? I found that to be a waste of time as there is no LED anywhere near the kickplate.

thx

I dunno either. I just pulled the trip piece off above the glove box and took the screws out and had plenty of access.

okee doke... guess it is a typo of sorts in the instructions.

so just this past weekend my LED's located in the middle of car / backseat (dome lighting?) went out.... AGAIN. second time they just went out for no apparent reason, only been installed a month or two.

whatsup with that.

Finally got around to doing LED foglights. Really only a cosmetic change as the bulbs and how the factory housing is set up, really doesn't project the light. I never used them when stock because I didn't like how yellow they looked compared to the stock HIDs. Anyway, here's how it turned out....

I don't like it. Looks way dimmer than stock. I changed mine with yellow fogs, and I love it.

Got my order from superbrightleds yesterday. Ordered Sunday and received on Thursday. I ordered (4) WLED-x5 in Natural White and (2) 3022-x9 LED Festoon in Natural White. They all work well, but I'm going to exhange all of them for the Cool White since the Natural White had a bit more yellow than I was expecting.

Also, I'm going to go with the WLED-x6 ones for the map lights since the x5's don't really shine as well. True, they have a wide angle spread, but the 4 bulbs that are in the circle formation shine into an area of the map console that really can't be seen. So IMO, not the best configuration for this application. For the license plates I think it's fine, but I'm gonna go with the x6 ones for hopefully even more light. I won't be taking pics since I've got to package them up and send them back for credit. Thought I'd just add my experience and $.02 :)

the x6s are super bright but they don't spread much. Let's just say you could do surgery behind my car, but you can barely see my plate.

Hmmm...good to know. I currently have the ones from dabears2k and they're the 1-watt ones that have a heat sink. They're really bright actually and have a slight tinge of blue. But there's one that keeps flickering...which prompted me to purchase what I did from superbrightleds. I might just return them and go back to the dabears2k kit then.

So are the superbrightleds flickering or the dabears2k kit???
Cuz im undecided on which ones to get....I dont want to spend like 30 bucks and then like 2 weeks later i have to order more leds.

It was the dabears2k kit that flickered. I winded up selling the dabears2k kit and returning the superbrightled ones (natural white) because they weren't as bright as the dabears2k ones.

Mmmmmm....so then you would'nt recommend neither of them?
The dabears2k kit are bright but flickers too much....and the superbrightleds don't flicker but are not as bright.... :/

There was only one bulb that flickered every so often with the dabears kit. I think the superbrightled ones would've been better if the map light and glove box ones were the 6-LED setup and the 5-LED wide angle for the license plate. I got the 5-LED wide for all of those and the 9-LED festoon for the hatch and dome. The natural white was yellowish almost. I'd get the cool white if and when I re-order. I'm enjoying the brighter light of the stock bulbs right now...but do miss the LEDs on the license plate.

Oh ok, I guess im gonna go with the superbrightleds....hopefully they all come out good.
Thanks for your help bro.
