How-To: LED Interior / Reverse / Licence plate lights

Alright, thanks for the help, UHATEIT. I'll ask phillyb about the hyperblinking

What did you use to sand the notch down on the turn signal light? I don't want to sand down the other notches in the process (freak)....

Do other LED's with the correct size for our turn signals not have this extra notch that has been giving us trouble?

i had the same problem but worked them in there without sanding as uhateit is mentioning. i worked them back and forth until they fit in the plastic piece. but sanding it will also work, no doubt.

Ok, thanks. I used the wire cutters and was able to cut off most of the plastic piece, and then sand down the rest.

Do you know if anyone sells LED flashers for our cars? Or do we have to use the load resistor kits for now if we don't want hyper blinking?

Moreover, does anyone know how to install the load resistor kit who can explain it to me? I don't want to damage my wires by doing it improperly.

superbrightleds sells flashers, but you need to first locate the flasher for our car...and then look at the connections for it to make sure you get the right one from superbrightleds.
the resistors will def work though. i also answered your pm

you guys should try red leds, red light gives the best visibility at night even at low output, its what airplane pilots use.

They use red LEDs because it doesn't dilate their pupils so when they look outside nothing changes. And most of the LEDs are red on the inside.

Anyway to get LED's in the foglights?? JW.

thats not a bad idea! would brobably be pretty damn bright! If you can find a set of 9006 led's I don't see why it couldnt work. Hyperwhite/coolwhite would probably look really nice in the lense!

I'm going to do it and do a before and after picture, I wonder why I never thought of that before, there are a bunch of LED's for 9006 fitment. Here goes nothing.

yeah people are blowing all kinds of money on trying to put an hid kit in the fog light lense which is pointless since the headlights light up the road enough already! So anything in the fog light lense is purely aesthetics. So I think an led bulb in there would look really sick! Post pics when done :)

eBay is crazy with them, all different shapes, sizes, and prices

These look interesting, but don't look like they throw any light forward.....

damn those are expensive!!! I figure they probably wouldnt throw any light out there, maybe if they reflect off the lense like the ones with the LEDs on the outside, but would look cool to have the led style look.

Like those Audi that have the led trim lights around the headlights. they do absoluetly nothing for lighting purposes, just pure aesthetics and act as the parking/driving lights. But damn they look cool tho :) So i think some hyperwhite driving lights would look pretty sweet in the fogs, if you connected the fogs to light up as driving/parking lights to stay on at all times.

Hey I got my LEDs in the mail today. I'll have to wait until a weekend when I have some daylight to work with for the installs, hopefully sooner than later. But I snapped some photos in case anyone is interested. One of the reverse lights isn't shown. I ended up getting some red and blue ones for the map and dome lights, just for fun to see if I like them.

i had an extra blue led that i used for my boost gauge...i also put a blue in the dome...
idk if i got red. please post pics

Ok, I had the LEDs in my previous mazda (a 2005 Madza 3) and loved them, so I decided to install them in my new 2008.5 Mazdaspeed 3 but I'm having some weird problem.

The map lights are fine, but the dome light LED keeps dying. It works for a while then suddenly just stops working within a couple days of install. I've had 2 LEDs do the same thing now. I bought the 3022-B9 as described in the original post.

Is there something strange about the 2008.5 MS3? Anyone else had this problem?

So whats the best LED for the turn signal?

Where are the turn signal relays? Do i need the new relays since I have LED tails already?
