HOW-TO: Install a MX-6 Rear Strut Tower Bar in a Protege5

I haven't seen the charge show up (jsut got last month's statement), but they do have my card info so I do not trust them.

Call your cedit card co. and tell them you lost your card...They'll place a block on it right away...If the company tries to charge you, it'll come up stolen!

Got the Megan Bar yesterday.

That looks just like mine, but mine's gunmetal. Good lookin bar, I love it, and really low key under the hatch cover.

Rear Strut Bar installed! Thanks!!

Hey Wil,

Thanks for the ~How-To~, I just did the install this afternoon and it was a piece of cake. In addition to the RSB, I'd also upgraded my struts with some blues, so the P5 should be ready for some drifting. (wishful thinking) Thanks again for the write-up.

Glad it helped! No need for getting the expensive stuff!

google it!

here you go:

http://secure.cartsvr.net/catalogs/catalog.asp?prodid=3395697&showprevnext=1
$29.99

http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs...100&TID=100&productId=2009931&catalogId=10101
$44.99

or you can go to a bicycle shop and get the ones used for seats (a lot cheaper!)...They're all the same...

Here's an ebay sample (key words: bicycle seat bolt adjustable):

Hope this helps,

I might try this, have people noticed a big increased in stability? I have the Racing Beat swaybar on my p5, would i still notice a difference?

Noticed an amazing difference. It cut my body role in half. An amazing mod for only $20. I just installed mine. Here are some pics.

That looks great! I'm glad you like it. It's one of those too good to be true type deals. I wished those sellers on ebay would lower the shipping cost, but I'm sure that's how they make their money.

It's a very inexpensive & easy mod to do...My butt dyno feels like the car handles better on turns with this. :)

Yah mine was only $20 shipped. Just goes to show yah some cheap mods are good mods and you don't always have to have the name brand parts.

anyone know if another cars strut bar fits the front? i know it came stock with one...but ne others?

so if i want to keep the seatbelts i have to cut the whole for the bracket? as in the only way to get around cutting is to lose the rear seatbelts? idk how that would affect the seat belts should i ever get in an accident and them claim it was that cut that caused a malfunction of the seatbelt (should one occur)
