How To: Electric Window Always On

Heya--

I did this mod on my P5, and my wife got a 2006 MPV and wants the same thing done for her windows.

I found a wiring diagram for the power window circuit, but I have no clue what I'm looking at.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Joe

does anyone have pics for this? the pics I guess have been deleted from the original server

I really want to do this, but there aren't many 08's in this topic. Anyone do this on an 08? What exactly stays on all the time?

Instead of having the windows on all the time, there HAS to be a way to wire it so they're only on when accessory is on. Anyone know how?

an 08 what? This is VERY specific to the Protege, as any other car or generation of Protege has a completely different wiring setup.

Did this a couple of days ago. Just noticed this last night. It's not a big side effect and it may only be specific to me but the light in the "AUTO" window switch stays on.

You are correct sir.

not much of an issue with me but just wanted to throw it out there as some doing this might not be keen on it.

That's not a side affect. That's what happens. It's a slow trickle off the battery. It doesn't affect anything. I have had mine this way for years and the battery is fine.

no worries. I used that site extensively for those projects :). He's pretty responsive about helpful emails.

congrats! I just moved out of State College, PA. Which reminds me, I need to change my profile...

This was the first mod done to my 2002.0 Pro5. I just did it and it took less than 10 mins. Next is to clean the EGR and turn off the door chime. Then throw a H/U in.
