How rare are the MS6's really?

I believe there were a total of 12K produced in 2006, of that 5K came to the US.

I've never seen another one on the road.

Im lucky If i see one a week. There is one in a neighborhood about 5 miles up the road but i have only seen him twice. In the same neighborhood there is a red MS3 but i just found that out last week.

I Was wondering if it was anybody from these forums the speed6 is white

I've honestly seen about 6 of them around here (Milwaukee). Maybe it's because of the climate, AWD is much more practical.

Yeah this week i have seen more than one (surprisingly) i have seen about 4 or 5. two blacks, One Red, and two Liquid Platinums

I have only seen 1 other one around and that was only once. It took almost two months to get mine. My salesman told me that they only send 5000 a year to the US and of those 1500 are black and of those 1500 less than half are GT models. So it is nice to know that in thirty years my car might be worth a lot of money.

In Colorado they are very rare. I might see one or two a month...and I know the majority of them. From talking to local dealers, we think there is somewhere around 20-25 in the whole of Colorado...we could be wrong...just a guess.

I also heard that North America received 5000 Speed6's for distribution.
The Speed6 is far from being an exotic car...but it is rare.

Unfortunately since it's an upgraded trim of a highly massive produced car, in 30 years it better have like 10k miles on it, and be all original to be worth much of anything. Upgraded versions of cars will only have value in the enthusiast market, and the Speed 6 is a heavier, more luxurious car, so it can't have the value like other enthusiast cars. There's just no way there's only 5000 of them for 2006. I wish we could get the real numbers here. I'd love to be wrong, but there have simply been too many sold in my area.

There's a reason why there was massive overstock on the 2006 model, and they were forced to unload them for insane prices. Only 5000 made, and having to offer huge incentives just doesn't add up IMO. That would make this car one of the biggest failures in history.

UMM, that was written either when the car first came out, or before. That was the projected amount, and wasn't set in stone. For the 2004 Model year, Subaru said they were only making 3000-3500 STI's, and if you look up like you did on here, you will see that said. However, later, the real production numbers came out, and it turned out they made 7200 of them for 2004, and then 10000 for 2005. Mazda initially projected 5000, but like other car companies, they decided to add more. This plan backfired, which is why you saw leftovers, and they were forced to unload them for insane prices. I'd imagine they wised up for 07, and 5000 for 07 is likely true.

Lets use the 2004 Golf R32 as an example. there were TRULY 5000 made and sold in the US, and that car flew off the lot FAST, and the 5000 were gone. VW decided to not make more and send them here, as they already decided they'd only make 5000, no matter how well it did. DO you realy think the Mazdaspeed 6 failed thatgreatly that they only sold half of them the first year and half the car was out? Come on, think about it. Oh well, hopefully we'll get the actual number. ;)

I see my white one, and one black one here in Northern Ontario ... When the dealer 'traded' to get mine shipped up here There was 5 on his sheet available for trade in the AC00 package - 2 red, 1 white 2 grey/silver i believe ...

Subaru also made 800 Limited Edition STI's with leather trim upholstery and no spoiler.

Nissan will be releasing the 350Z NISMO with limited Edition as well. (NISMO body kit, suspension, exhaust, etc)

Oh yes, and they numbered them on each car (example: emblem on dash stating 455 out of 800) so that's how you know there were truly only 800. I tried trading my 04 STI in for one, and they wanted full msrp ($34500), so I thought, as nice as it is, I'll save $11k and get a Speed 6. Those 800 sold fast, even at MSRP.

I live in Southwestern Ontario and I've seen a grand total of one Speed6 and one Speed3 and I saw them both on the same day. My deal claims they have only sold two Speed6's a year since they came out and don't carry them on the lot anymore since they don't sell in this city(Big3 city).

i donnu, i think im seeing more latly because i thing mazda is just trying to get rid of all of them. when they came to montreal, they were asking 750$ a month for lease!
im paying only $450 now

Only 5000? I doubt it. There were 2 at my Ct. dealer in January when I bought mine, yesterday there were 7. I spent the winter in Minneapolis, where MS6's and Mazdas in general seem to be everywhere. Not unusual to be behind a MSP at the car wash, or to see myself coming & going (MS6's) on the road around town, and saw a few on the road between Mn and Ct. MS3's on the other hand are truly more of a rarity. None at the dealer I bought from until yesterday, and I had checked regularly. 1 at the dealer in Mn, seen 2 on the road in Ct. I've seen many more of the MS6. There's the whole squadron that were available to drive in best time gymkhana at the '06 zoom-zoom live. If they were really going to be that rare, I'd assume they wouldn't waste the 25-30 units for ZZL. Anybody seen the MS3 at ZZL this year? I missed it.
I'd have to guess at a figure of at least 10000+ units, perhaps as many as 30000, '06-'07 MS6's.

There are not over 10k Speed6's. '06 production was limited to 5000 cars, and '07 was suppsively cut short due to low demand. I wouldn't guess that over 9000 cars were produced for NA.

just because you have seen alot doesn't mean there is alot. you probably saw my previous post stating there is only one other one in my area. Plus there is a total of two in stock between the four closest speed dealers to me. It took about two months to get the one that I wanted and I live in Iowa which is the state south of Minnesota.

man this thread went from being about how rare these are and how often people see them to how many were made. well im staying on topic, here in Florida the MS6 seems to be very rare. I have only seen 4 in total here in west palm since they have come out. 1 when they first came out the other 3 i saw after i bought mine. The dealership didnt even have any when i went to buy mine and had to transfer it and they only had about 3 MS3's and they were gone in about a month.

i have only ever seen 3 others ever, besides on the lot, i live in the south side of Salt Lake.
a white one. a red one. and a platinum one like mine.
two of them had cp-e exhaust, and their cars were smoking like a b****, and were cocky as hell lol. and the platinum one was stock, and was a pretty cool kid.
