2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
I have a 2003.5 MSP metalic silver. It has 98K miles on the car. Body is in great condition. New front bumper. FMIC, custom short ram k and n intake, type rs blue BOV (eBay). Greddy turbo timer. Joep FPR, and FCD, turbo xs MBC. The head is ported and cleaned out. The car only needs a short block and 2 intake valves and a 1 piston rod. I estimated cost for the parts was 350.00 or less. My wife don't want me to put any more money in this car. I was wondering HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY FOR THIS CAR? If I was to sale it as is. Just trying to see if it's worth it. I lost my job 3 weeks ago and have no income to support my family. Help me out on Your price opinion? Thanks guys.

Probably $5-6k. You can probably add another $2-3k if it were running. I paid $9,500 for mine about a year ago, but it was in pristine condition (only 2 mods - more valuable then) with only 52k miles. Good luck and I hope you can sell it soon. Times are definitely tough for a lot of people. :(

^^^ thats crazy high, i can buy a running driving msp for that price..
3500-4000 if you are lucky to be honest..
i would give you 3500 for it depending on overall condition

Thanks for the opinion guys. That's close to the price range I was thinking about. All the stock parts would also come with the car. I would like more opinions from more people so I can set a price on it.

personally, I don't buy non running cars at all. You might be better off parting it out back to stock, buying a short block putting that in, and then selling the car for like 4-5k.

IIRC I bought mine with intake, exhaust, custom SMIC, and Hardpipes with 124k miles for 4k.

Yeah I'm in the process of getting a short block right now. Yeah that's what I also had in mind too. But then again you don't run into a perfect 2003.5 msp that only need a short block (cost 100-150) for 4-5 k and install it yourself and save 2-5k or you can go buy one running for 8-13k or more from what I have seen.

Precisely... Get it in good running order and you'll be able to get a good chunk of change for it. With the miles on it and whatnot, I'd say you'll get 6-8k for it easily...

Hrm.. tough for me to say. I wouldn't think over 4-5k. Reason being is, I purchased mine a few months ago with ~80,000mi in perfect condition. 0 Mods done to it, etc. for 5900.00. In my eyes I got a hell of a deal as A) First one i've seen in North Carolina, and B) Such a low price. Just traded in the old beater (2000 Impala LS) and laughed maniacally as I drove away.

With that being said, it's safe to say you could sell it for as much as its worth to the buyer. If they've wanted this car for years and have had trouble finding one, hell you might get 8,000 binkers. But, someone who owns one already, probably not near as much. My advice would be to ask around on your local area car forums, see what potential buyers would pay.
