How much would you say my MSP is worth?

I was quoted $10,500 from Mazda........this was a few months ago when I was considering trading in for an MS3.

Now, Subaru was offering me $10k to trade in for a new 2008 STI, and the STI was for $29k.

Was tempted, but didn't want another sport compact. Thinking of going towards an automatic luxury car.

Definitely shop around. Market is not that great, and dealers are offering prime dollars for trade-ins, just to be able to sell new cars in their lots.

It's easier to sell a used cheap car, than a new cheap car.

Plus, with these cars, it'll be an easy turn-around for the dealers.

Just surprising it's hard to sell on your own.

Good luck!

Andrew

I'm looking into trading my MSP in. 2003 Mica Black, ~45k miles, it's in very good condition with the exception of some small dings on the exterior. Car is stock except the CD player has been replaced with a Kenwood XXV-01D. What should I expect from the dealer?

Wow man, that's awesome that you at least got offered that. I have a clean Spicy with 75k on it and the dealer offered me $3500 trade in. LOL.

Whats a msp worth these days?

Hello,

I have a black msp with 39k miles on it

I believe mods are still listed in the sig, any idea what they go for?

Thank you

$10k-ish
And I would love to take it of your hands if I could!

hmm i'm not too sure about 10k. i bought mine for 11 bone stock with 8900 miles on it BEFORE the economy took a dump. and to give you another example, i bought a spec v about a year and a half ago for 9800 with 51k and sold it after the economy blow out for 7600. and it only had 60k when i sold it.

ya, right now cars are not going for that much, I got a stock one for around 13k before last summer, but all the cars now are more around 10-11k at most, regaurdless of mods, unless a person knows about mods and what they are worth, it might be hard to get them to justify the extra cost, just mostly because they don't know much about it.. and well the economy blows ass, and for more money, they could get a different car, sucks, but I would wait till we get out of this, or go back to stock and sell your mods and then sell your car, you'll get more money. IMOP (in my opinion right?)

how much can i sell it for

ok so i decided to sell my car the other day considering my brother is in the air force and is going to ship me back a car. the pictures are a month old i just had the whole front end repainted and the side markers shaved to get rid of all the rock chips on the front. the paint is 2 days old not one scratch on the whole car. it has stock rims painted bronze dropped on skunk 2 coilovers but i also have pro lines in my garage. i have the mazdaspeed cover under the front doors shaved out and had watch your step signs put in in bronze. the trunk is 100% shaved no key hole no wing. i have the vis rear bumber skirt with built in diffuser. a magnaflow exhaust with high flow cat and a cut out. under the hood is just an intake. car is showroom condition this is my 2003.5 msp give me some ideas

Make sure your brother is careful about that. Depending on his location (Japan, Germany, Middle East), he might think he's able, but in reality he's not. It's not as simple as buying a car and shipping it to the states. If I'm not mistaken, the cars have to meet US specs BEFORE they can be shipped to the US (not to mention there's a ton of paperwork involved). I've got a lot of friends that were never able to bring a car back here from Japan because the cars don't meet US specs.
But how many miles on the MSP? That'll determine how much you can get for it. Also might want to consider returning the car to stock form. Most people seem to get more money that way.

ya sadly the msp won't go for much over $10-12k with mods I would say $15k at the most, the car my brother just bought had over $15k just in parts into it, only 30k origional miles and the guy did all the labor himself since he was a mechanic, was dynoed at 400whp, (on stock block lol) and the next owner blew the motor pretty quick and he kept the car for 2 years trying to sell it but in the end didn't get more than $5-6k for the car with blown motor.. even if the motor wasn't blown didn't go for over $15k I think the first time.. maybe it was sold for $16k at most, but that is because it had so much money into it and it was at $25k original miles or less at that time... im keeping mine till i dies then rebuilding it lol, I know im never going to get the money back, I can always save up for a new car at some point

the msp has 79,000 but i had a buddy that builts motors owed me a favor and put a ne clutch in the car rebuilt turbo and rebuilt the whole motor it has less than 12k on her.well ten to 12 is ok for me but yea my brother is in japan he already checkedeverything out his boy works over at Japanese engines in patterson so we are going to ship it to him as a "parts vechile"

Are you actually using it as a "parts vehicle"? Because its going to be a b**** to register, not to mention emissions (if applicable). I've done about as much research as humanly possible on this because I looked into doing the same thing. There's just no way around it. Not trying to play devil's advocate, just trying to make sure you don't accidentally do anything illegal.

I don't think you'll get 12K for that MSP unless when it was rebuilt you forged it as well, How was the turbo rebuilt?? rumor has it these turbo's are not rebuildable??
as far as importing a Car from Japan. or any other country....good luck. I've researched the s*** out of that, trying to import a simple Suzuki samurai, and have had no luck I even got to the point of contacting Canada and finding out what their import laws were then import it to the US. The US is way to strict. Bottom line: the only way it'll get here is illegally...or in parts!!! When you import a "parts" car it needs to be just that in parts. I member of my other forum literally had to separate the from from the body and removed the motor from the frame them brought them all over from Canada 3 months apart as a parts car, then put it all back and registered it as a kit!!! That's kinda easier to do with a samurai cause it's designed to be taken apart like a tonka-lego toy but still a P.I.T.A. I can't imagine having to do that with an integra.
