How much would you say my MSP is worth?

Goodbye speed?

I've been thinking about selling my MSP and getting something with a lil more 'kick'. I was wondering what you guys think it should cost around and what I should get next. I was thinking around 12k for my car. It has 58k miles, runs good, lil dents here and there on the outside, my rear lip is hanging off a lil probably gonna fix that, scratches on the rear bumper, and a crack on the passeger side of the front bumper. I was hoping to get around $11,500 but just started a lil bit higher. There aren't many speeds in my area and this kid thats looking into it is in love with the car so hopefully I'll get lucky. I was gonna save the money that i got for the car and work a lot and save more. probably around 15-17k. What do you think I can get thats out there?

That sounds about right. I would say $11,500 at the most. It really depends on how bad people want it though. Good luck.

sounds close to me, should be able to get at least 10,500. I wouldn't take anything less than that though. Good luck on the car search

for that much you can get a gently used RX8, S2000, or 350Z just depends on how many miles the car has or what ur lookin for.

Lil more would get you an STi...

you could look into some Audi or BMW products that would be a mix of luxury and fun. it all just depends on what you're after.

you could have a nice supra or FD for that... I'd be tempted. lol.

I'm all about keeping my cars till they die. Then depending on the shape of the car I might bring it back to life. I drove my Lumina all over and now it has over 230,000. I need a work car so I'm thinkin about redoing the head gaskets and reviving her, she is a bit rusty, but has been a good car to me. I'll keep the MSP for life. Engine dies-replace it, Tranny goes-replace it, the rest is small details. I love her to death. My perfect car. Not slow by all means, but I still get great mpg for drivin the baby around. Best grocery getter anyone can nuy for $9,000.

So it's now or never to buy the soon to be retired MS3 (this is the last year they're making them right?) So... that said, I need to decide whether or not it's time to part with my beloved MSP

Much of this decision will be predicated on how much I can get for it. Since KBB is a joke and, let's face it, this aint no Camry... I need a little insight.

So here's the specs...

03 Orange w/93k miles....

Condition: definitely above average. I've babied the hell out of this car since day 1. No dings or scratches... just a few chips on the hood but nothing crazy. Meticulous with the oil changes (mobil 1 every 3k) and tire rotations... on top of that, I just had a new timing belt, serp belt, water pump installed in addition to a few other things... I basically had it tuned up.

Mods.... in no particular order

Injen CAI (just installed new filter) $225
Custom MSP SMIC $400
Denso IK22 plugs (just installed 1k miles ago) $25
Unichip $800
Medieval Front & Rear Motor Mounts $90
Greddy Turbo Timer $60
Brushed Dave B Rings $35
Kicker KS series speakers throughout $350
Pioneer AVIC D3 indash dvd/nav w/sirius tuner, ipod & bluetooth add-on kits (will also play dvds while driving) $1000
Kicker CVR8D2 sub (replaced the POS kenwood about a month ago) $80
Boost & A/F ratio gauges (took them out but the wiring is still in tact) $120
AXR Clunk Fix bracket $195
Vibrant TBE (no CEL) $750
35% tint all around $150
Goodyear F1 Eagle Ultra High Perf All seasons (less than 10k miles on them) $800
03.5 MSP shift knob $50
ACT Stage 3 Clutch $400

So all together... holy s***... I've spent (this can't be right) $5530 on mods. And that's not even counting labor. wtf? lol

good god.... but anyway, I own the car outright and would prefer to sell it as-is (avoid the hassle of uninstalling parts and then selling them) hopefully the would-be buyer would have an appreciation for these add-ons. If not... I suppose I could part it out...

But yeah... what do you guys think? Some dude asked me if I'd be willing to sell him the car today and I was like.. hell yeah... then he asked me how much and I was like... umm... make me an offer. nobody likes to hear that s*** so I need to at least have a starting point.

I would wait, with the success of the MS3 they almost have to make a comparable repalcement. If they don't you will still be able to find a used car from one of those people that couldn't afford the car.

If yous sell it private you should atleast be able to get 10k-11k. It's very hard to find people that have that much to spend at once though cash.

When or if you trade it in expect 6-7-8k.

not trying to knock it.. but with the mileage.. i could see more like 8500-9000 tops

I think it's a great idea to keep this thread alive. I think it gives our cars the value it desrves by discussing it on here.

Even if you're not selling your car, it's always good to discuss it here. I think everyone here has great input and this is great for all MSP owners! thanks everyone.

Is this your car for sale? Did you sell it to someone and they are selling it again? Will it pass nysi with the greddy ecu? A friend of mine sent me the link, I told him I didn't think it would pass due to the aftermarket ecu not communicating properly, unless it is a piggyback?

I'm looking into trading my MSP in. 2003 Mica Black, ~45k miles, it's in very good condition with the exception of some small dings on the exterior. Car is stock except the CD player has been replaced with a Kenwood XXV-01D. What should I expect from the dealer?

To obtain thousands less than what you could sell it privately for. With that mileage and stock you should have no problem selling it.

Think about selling the MSP

**This is not a FS thread**
I have a yellow 3.5 msp with 44,000 miles. I was thinking about asking 10,500 for it. The only thing after market it has is injen cai a new corksport exhaust and front/rear motor mount inserts. Does that seem low/high/fair? Paint and body is in near perfect condition. Thanks

I also have a 2003.5 yellow MSP.
I think 10.5 K maybe slightly high but you got low miles.
These cars get great gas mileage for the performance you get so tout the MPG. I would like to see you get your price but you may have to settle for a little less maybe 10-9.5K. Hope you find someone who will continue to love and appreciate it. You didn't mention what car you are considering buying next??? Best of Luck.
