How much $ to install motor @ dealership?

how much does the typical mazda dealership charge/hr labor? or charge to just install a motor, short block (stock motor is already pulled)

im considering taking my car to the dealership to have my shortblock installed, b/c my current shop can't get it done in a timely manner. i jus need labor charges, b/c my current shop already ordered all the parts i needed, they even pulled the motor and installed the welded lsd.

i'm going into the dealership tomorrow to get an estimate but i like to have a ballpark figure so im prepared. thanks =)

dealer is usually $80-$110 per hour. A motor swap is about 6-12 hours of labor. You're looking at near $800-$1400 just in labor.

In the mitchell book it says 24.3 hours for engine overhaul. Plus 1.0 w\AC. So you're looking at 25.3 hours. I work for a Volkswagen dealer and we charge $103.00\hr. So example price is $2605.90. My advice is go to a performance shop. Thier hourly rate is usually closer to $75/hr

He is not looking for the engine to be overhauled, just installed and if i'm not mistaken the old engine is already out, some dealers may not like that you have already pulled the motor and may not give you any labor discount for this at all, i would expect to pay about $96.00 an hour x 8-12 hours......
