Just finished signing paperwork on a white touring MT. $15,400 otd with 0% for 60 months. I feel like I overpaid after looking at some of the deals others have gotten in this thread. Still, 0% is sweet!
I don't get it either. The dealers are getting their money somehow, so Mazda must be doing something behind the scenes for them.
The $13,500 I paid was the total price & it was advertised on the internet. They had 2 in stock; the other one is still there for $13,799 now. So my contract was $13,500 for the car, $272 for license/registration, $100 Processing/Electronic Filing Fee. That's it. (this is all disregarding my trade-in & down payment)
I sent that offer to 3 or 4 other dealers. One said print off the internet page & they'd beat the price; the other said I could have a silver one for $13,000; the other one said they'd sell me one for $14,000 with 0%. I forgot to mention the $13,500 where I got mine does not include the 0% interest offer. So I have a 3 year loan at 2.99% which I'm going to pay off early anyway (like in 2 weeks), but if I didn't that would be about $600 in interest, so it's not as good of a bargain then.
But the other 2 dealers just said they'd beat the deal & never mentioned interest rates in their e-mails. I had already bought this car before I saw their offers, so I'll never know. I was happy with my trade-in, so it probably worked out just as good for me anyways.
Were most of these really good deals near the end of the month? and the not so good deals more toward the beginning/middle?
Just a thought. I could be way off.
Mazda's dealer holdback is really low, compared to almost everyone else. It's possible Mazda offers a volume incentive on a dealer to dealer basis, to make up for the low holdback. The mark-up on the 2's seems to be only about $180, and the hold back would be about $140. So, if they sell the car at MSRP, the dealer would be making around $300. If they can dump a couple 2's and 3's below invoice, and lose maybe $2000 total, but get back $5000+ in volume incentives, it would make a lot of sense.

Looks like I found the right discussion.
I am also in Oregon and I've been unable to find any significant deal on a Mazda2 yet. I had a long talk with the sales manager at the Eugene dealer, but they were unwilling to go less than MSRP, even after I made it clear I was not going to buy one at MSRP.
MacAttack7, would you mind letting me know which dealers are giving you sub-MSRP prices? Did you get the 0% financing on that $13,500 price? I might buy one this weekend for that kind of deal, but I'm just not willing to pay MSRP for this car.
I'm actually heading to Portland tomorrow to visit some of the Mazda dealers up there. I would appreciate any other info you could provide!!
anyone in california particularly san jose whom had bought a mazda 2? im curious cuz aside from not getting the mazda2 i want every dealer has a different asking price for the same car.
well after a long search of a white touring manual finally found one, and im off to the dealer soon. so far they priced it at 16710 with 500 cash back and 500 off. u think i can push this for 15800? this is going to be financed with 2000 down
Well its a no go. they didnt wanna budge with the price i wanted. they were sticking with 16210, its making me really thing i should just go for a sport white manual, i just wanted the touring due to its cruise control capability and red stiching. what do u guys think?
