yes, two other dealers. one has a liquid silver sport 5speed. the other a red 5speed sport. I am unsure of what color i want but i know its not red. Dealers around here for some reason want you to but off the lot, they dont like to get you the car you want. Last year i was ready to buy but backed out because the dealer would not get me a 5speed in green, kept pushing the auto on me so i walked. I might have to drive out of state to get waht i want, i like the new blue and liquid silver, already have a black car and truck and hate the maintenace on them, white is the color of my work van and company truck, lol...seems like i am a bit picky but i have to pay for it for 5 yrs i want a color i like.
I did actually buy the car I have off the lot, but I was really lucky as the green grew on me. Of the two colors you mentioned you liked, I would concur on the blue. I've only seen a blue one in person once, but I really liked it.
Since you live in RI, I would say going out of state wouldn't be too far-fetched. I'm sure the state somewhat streamlines the process to register a car bought out-of-state...I would think so because RI is so tiny and apparently all the dealers are crooks LOL. I would definitely say stick to your guns as you are; obviously, it's important to get the car you want because you're the one who's going to have to live with it for the next few years.
I don't know how urgent the matter of getting this car is to you, but you might want to wait for the new 2 to come out, just for the sake of longevity. It's easier to live with the car when you get the just-launched model, as opposed to buying the older generation within months before the new one goes on sale (of course, Mazda hasn't released any information about when the new 2 is coming, or even if it's coming to the U.S., but I would expect it to arrive by 2015.) If you can wait that long, prices on the current-gen 2 will probably go down as well.
Food for thought
