how much boost can a stock msp hold

sell it to someone who could use the apexi, and buy a protege specific unit.

im telling you, the apexi wont work. you wont find a wire diagram on here - because it wont work.
and not to be a dick, but lots of people who didnt need wiring diagrams and how-tos have tried the greddy and apexi units, and they all switched to something for the protege. because the other ones wont work.

no one said throw it away - its not like its some ebay chip or something... it works for a lot of cars, just not this one.

i was joking,,quick question does long trips hurt the life of a turbo car? i ask cuz i have family in NY and i travel out there alot its a 3hr trip wat is ur opinion?

My MSP has been everywhere, mostly highway miles. Out of the 170,000+ miles on my MSP, most.....like 90% have been on the highway. Maintenance is the key, my car is all original. One cardinal rule would be not to go up hill in 4-5th grear and floor it, this stresses the engine because it will build boost at a lower RPM....adding to stress on the rods/crank(dwell time at BDC) and can end up throwing a rod. This is a good rule for any turbo car with a smaller turbo like the MSP's. Welcome to the Forum.

ehh general rule of thumb is 30 seconds regular driving, 1 minute if you drove a long distance or ran it hard.

i always have it set to 40, because typically my last minute or so of driving is always very light, i live in an 8 mph community lol and im about a half a mile in

around town, 1 min is sufficient. if i drove it hard or just got off the highway at a rest stop or something i would set it for 3.

whats an extra two minutes of idle vs. the life of your turbo? just how i look at it.

This is why people like me stop coming on here. The same dumb questions. There is so much good information out there if you take 5 minutes to look for it. Kudos to those of you that keep answering.

search function is balls, and the threads get deleted after a certain amount of time so you cant manually search through them, the way ive found the info i needed was google and it always lead to this site 80% of the time

thankx to those that take and like to take the time to answer questions those that dont like the questions or find them dumb keep it moving then!! big thankx to yudkib that has always taken the time.. now i just installed a boost gauge it wont go pass 0 it would read vac but it wont go pass 0 i had a friend of mine drive the car he says it dont feel like it boosting now i ask what would stop it from boosting.?

a leak from a blown coupler is the issue 95% of the time (if youre on the factory IC pipes they could be cracked), blown turbo accounts for 4%, crazy s*** like broken BOV or WGA stuck open accounts for 1% of "wont boost" problems
