How many tickets so far in your new 3?

1 day, 1 ticket as elaborated upon in my other thread (too lazy to link). I really thought the "I just got this car, I don't know the gearing/sense of speed" would get me off, too. Because seriously, I didn't think I was going *that* fast.

Maybe the judge/city prosecutor would understand....unless they could magically punch up how many warnings I've got in the past... :)

ive got a ton of friends that have their windows tinted and i got mine done too. i go tthe fronts 35% and in Michigan u cant have anything lower then 4 inches on the fronts. well i was goin down the e-way and a cop pulled out and chased me down just ta hassle me about my tint. i played stupid so i didnt get a ticket tho.

well my gf works at a medical insurance center so she got a note from the doctor saying my dad have open eyed glucoma and need tints on all the vehicles that he drives or is taken in to the doctors office, registered that at the dmv , took it to court , tickets got dismissed and I love the tint (2thumbs)

I just got a ticket the other day for my windows being to dark. What was bulls*** is that the cops that pulled me over got me coming off of the highway into the town that I live in. So they were state cops that were carrying around a tint meter. Not town cops. The town cops could give a s*** but these asshole staties have to pull me for some bulls***. They kept asking me why my center dash piece was not their and where the HU was. I told them why and it was like they didn't believe me. They kept asking me questions about when I got the car and again why was my dash apart. I had just worked 12hours and I was very irritated to say the least. I was about to tell him to **** off and give me my ticket. It took two cop cars to pull me. What kind of s*** is that. I think that is why PA is in such debt. They have too many cops out their that don't have any thing to do but pull people and call for backup in a little ass country town.

Pa. cops suck

When I moved here from Fl. They constantly harrassed the wife re: her tint (it was 5% on the back and rear). I just drove from Erie, Pa to Worcester, Ma. (500mi) and no ticket (*knocking on wood*)but there were alot of cops in Ny. and Ma..

Oh, BTW ran the A/C the hole way, had to turn it down it was so damm cold AND I got 410mi out of 1 tank it came out to 30 mi/gal and I was doing 80mph.

That gas mileage sounds about right. I think I figured it out to be around 28mpg while driving mixed traffic conditions. I also drove around a little with he A/C running.

I am not really satisfied with the performance of the A/C. I think that for a new model car that the little things should be perfected. There is no reason that the air on this car should not be extremely cold. Maybe on the 05 they will have the kinks worked out. Until then everybody better put on the air before you get into the car to give it a headstart.

Is it true that if the cop made a mistake on the ticket he wrote and you can proove it, you wont have to pay it?

Georgia just relaxed their laws reguarding window tint due to discrimination concerns with non residents exemption. (cool)

I'm taking my 3 in tomorrow for a full tint, not sure what % yet. The A/C does seem to be weak and could use the help in hot 'lanta, (burn)

Any advise on the %?

damn !

i was so stupid, the cop was following me right behind (cauz i was going for 80), and i couldnt notice it, it was 11:30 p.m.

Think about how pissed he will be when he finds out the fact that you lied.

It depends what the mistake was... usually the court will try to amend it unless they really want to let you off..
the judge gets to decide wether they can amend the ticket or not, at least thats the way it works here...

Believe me that is a bad idea. Just tell your dad or if you have a friend that his father is a police officer he can do the favor to void the ticket.

I had an officer write my name incorrectly, the wrong kind of car, and some other mistake on the ticket. When I asked one of the attorneys here at work if that kind of thing was grounds for dismissal, he scoffed and said no way.

....

You're reeeeeal lucky if all you got was the speeding ticket. Here, you can take a class to completely wipe such a ticket off your record - did that 6 years ago when I was 17 on an 84->60 and the parents never found out about it... :)

A Guy at work have told me they've gotten off of speeding tickets by having wrong info on the ticket, but the same guy gets like 3 tickets a month and has lost his license several times and been busted for driving without a license :P

Anyway here I personally tried using the incorrect info as an excuse to save dragging myself and a witness to traffic court, but they decided to prosecute me and then decided to throw it out (the cop showed up and all, he seemed pretty pissed he didn't get a chance to talk to anything after sitting through 2 hours of traffic court) when they found out I actually had a defence other than just the date being wrong. (not to mention they screwed up my car model and color), but probably had the person that called the poilce on me been there or if I had no other excuse the judge would have allowed them to ammend the ticket and charge me with the offence...

Speaking of traffic court i've got a funny story to share while I was waiting for my turn:
This 35-40 year old native man gets called up because he was being charged on some offence because his car was involved in a hit and run... the guy says he's not guilty and heres his explanation: He went to the casino for the night, someone apparently snuck into his jacket, stole his keys, stole his car, ran a red light, hit another motorist and ran away from the scene, then they parked his car in the exact same place at the casino lot and slipped the keys back into his pocket... then he says he didn't see the damage because it was dark and he called the police the next day to report that this had happened.
Witnesses at the scene described the driver as a 30-40 year old native man...
The judge went on to say that she could give him 7 points on his license and suspend his license and charge him zillions of dollars but then went on to say that there wasn't enough evidence and she let him off -.-

Nice to see the system works :P

the 4 badges are apparently unique for puerto rico. i tried to get mine financed by a stateside credit union (3.75%) but they declined my loan because my car did not exist.
i sent them the window sticker but they took too long to reconsider so i financed
through scotia bank at 5.75%.

What, exactly, does that have to do with traffic tickets? (uhm)
