Disclaimer: This is just one man's opinion... as there are many opinions on this, with widely varying viewpoints.
I am a mechanical engineer, so I have little more insight into this subject (but I don't have all the specific answers either).
Anyhow, just use "common sense". Just drive your car "normally" (i.e. nothing extreme) and follow the maintnance schedule. The fact is that modern engines are made with very good tolerances, and modern oil has more consistent quality nowadadays (than in the old Detroit era). Sure, you can go for a "power" break-in, but it should be done by an experienced person who knows all of the little details.
If you plan on "driving your car like you are angry at it", then all bets are off. Because you will be spending extra $$$ and time doing either preventative maintenance, or fixing it after the fact.
