how many members have the udp on their ride?

gains were like 6-8 hp i hear....did you feel a difference in the power band and
is accelerating a little faster? thinkin about gettin it.

do not have one on my car. i did have one on my old car. did not notice anything great with it. it just made my charging system and ac suck at idle.

i know someone had it on their ride (turboge's friend) for at least 7 mos. now. No problems at all so far from what i have heard. Good gains too from what i have heard.

I say go for it. You seem like a risk taker and you really want to test the limits of the motor. This would be a good step. I dont see why you should be worried about anything considering your current set-up.

I have "heard" it wasnt the best for FI applications but then again who knows right.

ive got the unorthodox on my rx7... gained 7 hp peak and 5 throughout. at that time the car dynoed 309rwhp so i honestly dont know how much youll see on the protege but it definately wont be more

It all depends I had money to blow so I got it, It really only helps me in the higher rpm's but it does give me a nice kick. You really need more engine mods to feel a difference. Oh and you would feel it more on a manual there it would help you through most of the powerband but I have an automatic so it really does'nt help me that much since I'am not in the high rpm's all the time.


BTW... I held both pulley's in my hand and the stock one is one heavy bastard, the udp felt very light. When I popped the hood I saw it spun the belt faster as well.

The dont usually agree with turbo'd miatas.

its a smaller and lighter crank pulley that'll free up some hp/tq by having less weight and being smaller the crank turns a little freely and doesnt have much stress.

Keep in mind, one or two members have had serious engine damage and both had the UDPs on their car. Needless to say, Mazda did *not* cover the car from what I remember.
