How many beers to get drunk?

I was just wondering how much everyone drinks when they are really tying one on. I know it always varies.

I will kill a half gallon of 80 proof rum on occasion. Certainly blacked the **** out by then but I have done it a couple times. Come closed to a half gallon of JD in the past but that can get me in a bad way (fight)

Generally I figure on an average night at the bar I will have about 6 mixed drinks and 6 beers. If I want to get sideways then it is much more. Tonight I am going to get an 18 pack for my head and should manage that just fine.

I havent killed a 30 pack by myself in a while but that is always a good mission.

none - allergic - I turn bright red and get a bad rash when I try to drink.
It has steadily gotten worse each time I drink something so I've stopped trying.

When I was in college I was able to drink a lot more than I do now. My tolerance has gone to s***.

It used to take 5-6 drinks to feel anything, 9-10 to get a decent buzz, 14-15 to get drunk, and high teens/low 20's to get blitzed.

Now, it's down pretty damn low. 2 drinks to feel anything, 4 to get a buzz, 6-7 to get drunk and anything over 10 to get ****** up.

Out of curiuosity what's the average volume of alcohol in a typical US beer? I know that it's not indicated on the label so I'm just wondering. Here in Canada it's usually at least 5%, I find when I'm in US the beer seems extremely light compared to here.

I've got a pretty low tolerance...Start feeling it by around 3-4 beers, if we are out at the bar, I usually stop at around 8 or so. I'm pretty drunk by then. If we are at my house though, I basically drink till I pass out. Once I get to about 8 beers, I don't taste it anymore, so I'll just keep drinking whatever's available, blackout, and next thing I know it's morning. Never really get hangovers somehow though. And I've only puked on 3 separate occasions from what I remember.

Is it really? If I had to guess I would have said around 3%.

Regular beer is around 4.5%

Light beer is around 3.2%

Of course I don't drink any of that crap, microbrews and imports for me. One of my favorite beers is a Belgian tripel that's 9.5%

on average, a 12pack of 7%alc/vol gets me in a good place...when I'm on a mission...alot...for example one camping trip, I decided to give a record breaking performance....36beers later...i was a happy guy..12canadians, 12corona, 10blue and two*cough*coolers*cough...let me tell you...it's was huge..killer hangover though

i like rum (151 or regular bacardi) and jack the best, and it takes about 4 for me to feel it, 10 and im pretty trashed

A few of the Miller's have 5% i.e. Icehouse. As do a few Bud's I believe.
yes the bud ice and icehouse do have 5.5%alc but i was referring to your basic bud and miller(my favorite)

by a good place for 12, I mean, I'm buzzed, and happy, but not 'wasted'...I still have control. Normally to get me wasted is like, 18-25 depending on what I've eaten that day

A good beer to try, is Guiness, such a good dark draught beer...but beware, with dark beer, comes congeners, with congeners comes a headache hangover, even if you only had two...but it's so worth it.

ha interesting thread... i can go through 16-22 and feel pretty good... Im a big captain or jack and coke fan i drink enough of those itll get me gone.
