How long is the warranty?

I currently have a 2003 protege 5 wagon with 44k on it....i hear we only have warranty up to 50k is that truee???


so ive been having this wierd rattle noise when i accelerate or step on the gas.. ive noticed that you start to hear this rattle noise when i reach 15-25mph...

i think its coming from the exhaust but i checked it and it doesnt seem loose. so what else can i do now...

can anyone help me!!!!

You sound like you're actually complaining that the warranty is "only" 50,000 miles.

It's much, much, much better than the other major brands, which only give you 36,000 miles!! (or 3 yrs)

You have 6,000 miles left, which is plenty of time to get everything fixed under warranty. If you had a Honda, Nissan, Dodge, Ford....or just about everything else save the luxury brands, you'd be SOL at your 44,000 miles.

Has this car had the VICS screw falling out in the intake getting sucked into the motor recall done? It was for 2003s from mar-aug I think. Do a search on recall here. There are threads with VIN ranges & production dates. You can also check VIN on Mazda's site. It is a recall thing & should be done free regardless of mileage or warranty by the dealer if it hasn't already been done. I would check into it pretty quick if you have abnormal clattering noises.

As far as warranty, many dealers add extended warranties to their packages. My car, also a 2003, has a 5 year, 60K, bumper-to-bumper warranty. My dealer automatically included it in the car package. I've seen other people who say they have 75K warranties. If you still have the original sticker, it may say the warranty coverage provided by your dealer.

is it a high pitch type rattling noise.....if so I have it as well. It almost sounds like the manifold is loose or there is an exhaust leak somewhere.......
