How does XM work?

The channels that have commericals on XM, are their "corperate" channels. Like VH1, MTV, CNN, etc. And I personally don't listen to those channels. But there are still like 50 - 60 general channels that don't have any commercials.

Also, XM has the sh*t together. If you email anyone in the company, you get a quick accurate response. If you send something like "YOUR CHANNEL SUCKS!" they reply and ask why. If you send in a request, you'll most likely hear the song within 1 or 2 songs (assuming it is the right channel, and they didn't just play it)

Sirrus might have more to offer. But, I think they might have jumped the band wagon too soon. Plus with Sony and Pioneer advertising the bejessus out of XM, the longer sirrus waits, the more times they will be shooting themsevles in the foot.

The better product doesn't always win.. *cough* Beta8 *cough*

I don't argue the fact that Sirius is late to the party on this...oddly, I was at their studio over a year ago and the equipment and staff was already in place then. The license is a rare and valuable one. There are only two. Period. I think the venture capital money got tight for a while when the dot.com bubble burst.

I hope that both do well.

I guess I agree.. Friendly competition always helps to increase quality of service... i.e. Coke and Pepsi.. They are best friends, but also corperate enemys... To bad it's not this way in the recording industry... fokkers...

To Ourp5:
Thanks a lot. Maybe installing high quality speakers would cost more than XM...I think I have to postpone all plans to upgrade my audio system coz I just paid $2300 for my summer tuition.
:(
