How do you get to 200hp ?

Is there a way to get the MP3 to approx 200 hp with stock internals / no nitrous ???

After driving a 1993 Ford SHO for seven years, i relly enjoy the tossability of the chassi, but need a little more get up and go...

Well if you are going NA, it's gonna be tough...especially if you are wanting 200 WHP. Really in my opinion, the most bang for your buck is gonna come from installing a turbo. I'd head over to the forced induction forum and do a little reading on the results of others.

I don't think it is possible to achieve that much on our engines, I believe They raced an mp3 on the Speedvision WC and the max it could get on NA was about 194 at the crank. Don't quote me on this but I know for sure it wasn't above 200, and that was for a race team

yea, there's no way to add 60 hp, not counting the amount to get it to 200Whp on stock internals. you'd had to start boring out the cylinders and adding bigger pistons etc.
better start boring or go the route of forced induction

Actually, I think the speedvision MP3 and Pro 5 have like 215hp. But look at their compression. 15.1:1. That will do it. Not to mention a cast aluminum block.

This is a part of an email i got a while ago from Craig at tri-point.
Hi Brian,

These motors are normally aspirated. They have 13.1 compression, stronger
rods, Mazda Speed cams and a Motec engine management system. They produce
about 220 HP at 8000 RPMs.:D

Well, the engine management explains it. I believe stand alone engine management may be the only way to get any good HP from our engine. The stock ECU in almost any kind of tuning scenario I can think of is just trash. Especially since the factory ECU is geared more towards being environmental friendly. Now that I know the location of some shady SMOG technicians, I won't be afraid of eliminating cats, tuning the fuel, or running stand alone engine management.;)
