How do most thieves break into a car?

wd40 comes into play how in this topic? i don't follow.
that is crazy though that people go and take them flatbed, i can't say i know anyone whos ever had a car taken.

from someone that used to break into cars when he was younger..
1. window peeling - cut weather stripping around the window.. bend the window back and reach in and unlock the door
2. small triangle window (esp if tinted) break it an get in
3. remove the entire door handle + lock
4. cars with alarms you can hook a remote battery jumper to them and fry the alarm
5. pop the hood in the front and yank the alarm

have fun defending all that. -=\
a decent alarm a open window and a firearm is the best way.

They may go for a back window if you have a shock sensor it won't initially pick it up, then pop the trunk to disable the siren ASAP. I don't know from experience, but seen it on 20/20. They are so fast they can smash a driver's side window and pop the hood, disarm the alarm in seconds! I had someone use a device that "punched" the door lock in to the car. Left a nice hole where the door lock was when I had my s*** ripped off. Not to mention the trunk's key hole as well. This was in my first vehicle, a Toyota Corolla.

my friend's acura got stolen less than a year ago, right in his front yard with a F/S sign on it, they found it stipped in RI. flat bed trailer i'd believe.

hehe it isn't really the ghetto though, which is sad cause they are starting to branch out away. Guess all the nice cars have already been smashed so they had to find new areas.

The WD-40 comes into play as it can function as a de-greaser and with your fingerprints being simply grease.....WD-40=no more fingerprints or damn hard to lift.

Some kid in PG county was shot a few months back while stealing a car. THe shooter was found innocent. Why don't you put a GPS system in the car and have it transmitted to a computer. As soon as its gone call the cops. Seems like you can't stop it from getting stolen so why not be able to track it down?

THE BEST DEFENSE IS A STRONG OFFENSE. Let everyone know you will **** them up if they lookat your car wrong. It worked fo rme all through high school.

Just be thankful you aren't driving a Honda / Acura. Most Hondas and Acuras are so insanely easy to break into its not funny. I have a friend with a 2003 TL type-S and another friend with a 2003 RSX Type-S. You can open both with my sister's 2000 Integra LS key. All you have to do is stick the key in at an angle and figit with it. Its extremely simple. What's worse is that most integras don't have the fuel cut off, so you can actually start the car and drive away. Its so easy, that my friends don't even ask eachother to use keys anymore.. if someone wants to borrow a car, then they just drive it away. If you have any kind of honda key, you can go ahead and try it. An OLD civic key will work on almost all integras and civics and accords.. the newer the key, the easier it is to do. A certain friend of mine likes to get drunk and drive other peoples' cars around.. he puts them back cause he's a good guy. Its so simple, you could do it in the middle of a crowded street, and nobody would notice cause it would look like its your car...

Anyways, the way I see it, just put a good alarm on there. If someone wants your car that bad, they're going to take it. An alarm will keep the "newbie" car jackers away, but thats about it. If you want to go further.. maybe Lojack. Theres not much more you can do.

you need GPS + blocks of C4 mounted all over the car, if you see that your car has been stolen, wait for the car to stop, (probably at a chop shop) then detonate it remotly kill all the theives in 1 blast,

it is better to kill the theif and lose your car than to lose your car and let the theif go, insurance will take care of the rest

also keep this in mind, once your car has been stolen, IT HAS BEEN STOLEN, which means some ass fuk abused the s*** out of it running away, it will never be the same, you will know someone else fuct your s*** up, and you won't even like the car anymore, you can relive that feeling by killing him and his family + his friends and everyone else he knows or is connected to his stupidty

Don't forget his pets, his barber, his banker, and the kid who delivers papers to his door every morning.

LOL, on the C4

Well when I put a car-puter in, I plan on having a PC-linked two-way pager and GPS. (Or cell phone connection-depending on cost)

But for now I think I have my alarm locked down as simple and cheap, yet effective as I can get it.

Basicly I will work totaly off of the keyless entry, to keep the remote stock.

To arm and un-arm the system, just use the remote to lock or unlock the car.
If you use the door-switch, or key-locks, the alarm status won't change.
If the alarm is off, and you use the door-switch, the alarm stays off, but the car locks.
If the alarm is on, and you use the key-lock to unlock the car, the alarm will still be active. (But have a 15-second delay)

The alarm would turn off anytime the car was started, or the remote used.

I will use the car horn as the alarm, the same as the Panic mode on the car.

The car will have shock, and two-zone perimiter sensors.
If there is motion on the outside perimiter zone, and the system is armed, the parking lights will flash as a warning.

Inside motion, or shock will set off the alarm.

I will use a red LED that will blink different depending on whether the system is armed or not.
(Rather then two colors, which would show a possible thief if the system was armed)

And don't forget to add a small flame thrower in there. Perhaps if someone touches the door handle without doing the remote first it will give a small burst...just enough to burn their feet :)

Ah, I like the electric shock idea.

And it's easy to do, any old disposible flash camera has a good shock circuit built in.
It could then be integrated into the seat of the car.
I would need some sort of warning so I don't shock myself of my wife:
Mabye an audio warning:

"You have 10 seconds to exit the car, or you will get shocked"

Door-handle shocks are fun, but you run into possible liability issues as they are on the outside of your car.

Yep there was a guy with a fully custom show sound system in his Astro who had shocks on the outside. Someone tried to break into it, he got zapped and sued.

Sometimes being a thief is more profitable than legal business. Just think even if you fail you can sue, just make sure you hurt yourself.

i like the seat idea then just hook a light on the otherside on the connection and when the circut is complete sending power through the seat via wire just put it to both seats so if they break in the other door they have to go to the back seat to steal s***. the trigger can be along with the siren. So you have two clue on if its on or not siren goign off? its on. Light on? its on

when i got mine stolen. they broke through the rear quarter window and jsut opened the door. the did a jobbie on my car tho. stealing my deck, amp , and subs. theives suck and should die :). ohh well there is always karma
