A couple of people on here have tested our stock BPVs and show that they tend to leak and not hold boost. Getting a better piece will hold boost better and spool a bit quick. I wouldn't say they don't do anything. Maybe not the most important thing, but *shrug*. I'm personally looking at the HKS kit from CP-e, and the TurboXS Hybrid. Really torn, leaning towards the TurboXS due to price, but the SSQV is the SSQV...

SSQV? DAMN all these letters I feel stupid.... LoL (Funny thing is, the Marine Corps uses letter for everything too! lol)
i know what you mean my brothers a recruiter and for the Corps. and everytime i talk to him everything he talks about is abbreviated one way or another....
SSQV is Super Sequential Blowoff Valve, the HKS SSQV is well...a beautiful thing

Cobb intake and Turboxs hybrid valve....that is all you need to announce the car is turbo to anyone within earshot.

short ram intakes (SRI) are louder than cold air intakes (CAI) because the pipe is so much shorter. if you want everyone to hear your turbo spool, it's SRI for sure. i have the cobb SRI, and the turbo spool is VERY audible. also, the cobb SRI is only 175, which is significantly less than any CAI solution.

I've youtubed how a CAI would sound on my MS3 and am sure I want one. Just one thing I see is everyone posting other brans like INJEN and COBB. I am familliar with both those tuning companies, but want to know about how you guys feel about buying CAI's and SRI's from the dealership?

if you go buy the mazdaspeed cai you'll pay a lot more for something that a lot of people have complaints about. It supposedly can cause cel's, and i dont believe it has an air straightener in it. Save almost half the money and get a short ram, whether it be cobbs or even begi's cool air box.
