HKS flutter problem

Well i read many posts and threads over and over. However, nothing solves my problem. well i bought my hks special black edition from another user on this site. I installed it and im getting flutter on all rpm levels. So i figured there must be leaks however i checked all the connections and i even put water/soap to see if any air or leaks are there however all of them are connected well.

it sounds similar to this however its shorter.....and in the higher rpms its a shorter flutter but its still there........there is no pshhhhhh sound when its in higher rpms .

any advice would be great!

thats what im thinking.......however, im not an expert. so i do not know for sure. but it sounds like it. u know of any shops that could help with somethin like that?

the hks on my ms3 makes a very fast flutter psh at WOT. its not a true pshh sound, but the very quick flutter.

you have version 3 or version 2? if u have version 2 you can adjust it using the bolt on the back, the farther out the less pressure on the spring and the less flutter

i have version 2, and its version 1 that has the bolt adjustment. version 2 is auto adjusting like version 3.

@ bov80 yeah i saw ur videos in another thread and mine sounds nothin like that. its constant flutter.

this is mostly how mine was conected the first time. (flutter) than i went to a store and bought the proper hoses and tie down to secure all the lines the second time which did me no good. so once again for sure everything was tied down perfectly and there were no leaks that i could see when i pourd water/soap on the connections....... the second time i used ruber hoses and i put clamps on every connection, however one thing raised my eyebrow.

when i took off the stock bov to me it seems like the air goes in the direction of the arrow to open the bov. however on the hks it goes the other way......thats what is weird to me.

anyone has any ideas?

also the stock bov is a lot harder to open....the hks that i got is easier but i heard there are different springs for it or what not.

No you are wrong. air does not push back on the front of the HKS. when you are in boost, the valve is closed which means that there is boost on the bottom of the valve trying to come out. once you let you foot off the gas, the the car goes into vac which in turn opens you HKS letting the boost that is still in your intercooler tract out. that is how ALL bov/bpv's work. there is no "air" pushing on the front of your HKS or any bov/bpv for that matter, to cause them to open.

you might have to open up your HKS and re-lube the inside for it to open smoother. ive never heard of anyone doing this to solve a problem with an HKS but you never know.
