Hks bov

Sorry to threadjack but since this is a bov thread I might as well ask. I'm new to Mazdas I previously owned an A4 and the best diverter valve for that car was a recircluated one. Now do Mazda's require a recirculating valve....will a BOV hurt anything in the long run?

just keep the stock bpv til you heavily mod your car. its totally fine.

get a SRI then your bpv will get louder significantly.

There seems to be two schools of thought on this one. Some say the stock BPV doesn't hold boost/leaks others say it's fine. Personally, I have a SU/TurboSmart XS Dual Port BOV (that was a mouthful) waiting to be installed when I have some time.

If you go with a BOV, make sure you are running either full recirculation or 50/50 (VTA/Recirc). Otherwise you'll end up with backfires, codes, and other good stuff without a tune.

I'd get an SRI before anything it's one of the best bangs for the buck.
