Hit and Run

Well after working a 13 hour shift I was more then happy to come out to my car and see a nice hole in my front bumper. The person who hit me must have backed into my car at a fair speed to make a nice hole that looks to be the size of a tow hitch? To the bat s*** douchebag who did this, I hope karma works its magic and you give birth to a ginger kid that likes to play with fire!!!!!!!

After my rage went away I made a few phone calls and found out an oem bumper is going to be roughly 350$. I remembered a while back on beyond that CustomAuto was able to get the oem style bumpers that are made of the abs/oem material that are replicas but commonly used or so they said on the phone. I was wondering if anyone can comment of these bumpers or if I should suck it up and go OEM.

That sucks hard. I would be on a man hunt if I found my car like that. I dont know what to say about the bumper, just good luck on getting it all sorted out.

I would stick with OEM. What do you have to worry about? Insurance should cover it without your premium going up

To be honest I really dont mind paying for the new bumper and not going through insurance. The thing that bothers me is how the people that hit and run etc. are able to continue life without any thought of guilt or nothing. I work hard to be able to pay for university, my car etc and take pride in doing so. My parents also taught me that when you make a mistake you should own up to it and learn from what happened. Im sure the person that hit my car did not even take into consideration the negative effects on me but was more worried if anyone saw him/her commit the act. I not only feel hatred towards these people but also feel sad that they dont understand what life is really about.

My car got tagged last summer in a parking lot by some idiot, now my headlight and bumper have a nice scratch.

How badly would this affect insurance rates to claim it?

I avoid claiming insurance like the plague, go with OEM for sure money well spent in terms of proper fit etc.
