Hill Country Cruise, April 7th

however, we will still be meeting in austin for bowling and whatever else. still the same time of 10 A.M. we will be meeting at highland lanes on burnet and 183.

AGAIN, THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED


This meet is on Saturday, April 7.

Instead of the regular Lime Creek Road drive and since it's Spring and blooming season, we'll head into the Hill Country.



Will start at 10AM:

we will be meeting at bobcat stadium:
exit 206. turn right on to aquarena springs. drive until you see football stadium on left.


1) Start out in San Marcos and head west on Hwy 12 and 32 to 281.
2) Head north on 281 into Blanco and head west on 1888.
3) Continue west on 290 and head into Fredericksburg for lunch.
4) Head north on 965 and swing into Enchanted Rock State Natural Area if people wanted ($6 to get into)
5) Head south on 16 and turn left into Willow City Loop
6) Head east on 1323
7) Head north on Althaus David Road/RM 3347
8. Head east on RM 962
9) RM 962 turn into Hamilton Pool Road
10) Arrive into Austin for dinner/hangout

i'm currently working on a meeting place in san marcos

We have a list going there, but lets get a list going here of what plan you would prefer.

If I have the new car by then I'll tag along. I have no idea what date this is going to be since it is in fact March 22nd and you have it listed as a March 8th event..

enchanted rock will take up most of the day and its a ways off of the main highway. I think the longer trip would be more fun. Plan B For me! I think it would be cool if we could get the river in the pictures but i dont know of any good parking lots that are close and wont be packed with students. We could try and get bobcat stadium in the background if we park in that commuter lot. Idk any good places though.

thats all i could think of for pictures in plan a. i dont really know of any good areas here in san marcos other than the commuter parking lot. and thats not very scenic.

OH, as far as pictures in SM.... we might be able to do it in the aquarena center parking lot. Not the most attractive place ever, but its got lots of plant life around and stuff. I dunno if anyone else has been there. Its kinda behind the golf course right on aquarena.

New to this forum (im usually on **********) but I would love to join you all on the 8th.
BTW the bridge on Texas Capital Highway (crosses river) would be an awesome photo op. if we could get the bridge in the pic. with the cars. Unfortunately I am not seeing a way to do that. But there is always the Arboretum for parking lot photos.

we've done the 360 bridge photoshoot quite often in the past meets. its a little trickey getting everyone in but we have been able to manage it. heres a pic from our last meet:

i think we had 14 or 15 cars there. it can be done

good idea jason, i didnt think about the aquarena center. we could fit quite a few cars in for a shot but i dont think anymore than 10. btw i sent my unichip to platinum to get warrantied today. you need to get yours fixed too.
