HID question

After installing my HIDs ive noticed that they shine right in the face of oncoming cars, my questions is, is there a way to adjust the headlights downward alittle bit?

there is a headlight adjustment screw on the headlight.. its bronze or gold colored.. aim your left headlight lower than your right.. and ur good-=P

do it quick 'cause it's kinda bad (i.e. blinding the other drivers and if you're super unlucky, the police !) and could cause accidents

also.. if you do the jdm blacked out headlight mod.. its cuts down on the glare a little bit -=P

is it a gold colored screw(phillips head) on the back of the light housing, located in between the the light sockets?

best place to do it is.. by a wharehouse with flat ground.. pull your car back about 15 feet from the wall.. turn on the lights.. and get your adjust on -=P

mine is extremely staggered.. my left headlight is almost 2 feet closer to my car with my beam pattern.

catz .. what about u? i have the catz 4500k.. the reason its so extreme is cus the cops out here are assholes. .and now that i have the cf hood im classified as rice.. so they love pulling me over. -=\

I got mine out of a 2000 bmw 3 series, these things are way too bright i think. They are brighter than my stock high beams. Maybe im not used to them yet.

How would i find out the light rating for this type of system?

Yeah, I didn't want to drive my car until they were adjusted down. Use the bolt on each of the lights.

what would you say the right height would be at that distance?
10 feet and knee height. When you drive around behind people, you should light up the ground and the trunk, but not shine in their back window.

Thanks Mypfizzle, i just got finished adjusting them, 100 % better, much thanks for the info! Thank you zoom5 for the adjustment info!

no problem.. happy shining -=P welcome to the board by the way.. you may want to contact bmw to get the k rating on their stock lights. -=P or search on webcrawler.. it has to be posted somewhere.. its prolly between 4500 and 6500.. anything over that is not as much light output but more color..
