does anyone know of any significant differences between the HiBoost FMIC and the CorkSport FMIC other than $100 and a BOV?

hiboost you dont have to cut any part of the car. it also goes through the area the stock smic is in.

i'm comaring the info between the hiboost website and protegegarage.com. PG says it comes with a HKS BOV and the hiboost webside says it comes with a HKS BPV. can anyone clear this up. also in hiboost.com they offer to upgrade the BPV with a greddy Type RS BOV for $190

the corksport is a much larger core with more direct and (i believe) larger diameter piping. I'd say it's easily a better system for moderate or even fairly large power goals and you can get a nice bov with it.

hiboost comes with an old-school HKS bov that isn't great. i have it. it leaks. The pipes are so-so on fitment, not bad but sometimes come apart. Don't get me wrong, i have the hiboost and it's GREAT; just small issues, and of course now i want bigger because my goals have since increased.

Yes, the CS you will have to remove the A/c fan, but that shouldn't be too big a deal, i think you can get a spal slim fan to replace it?

If i were to custom my own kit, in all honesty it would literally be exactly like the CS. it's awesome.

i was under the impression that you could choose to have a bov of your choice added on for an additional cost. I may be misinformed though.

oh yea, and if you get the Hiboost HKS bov, you will want to recirculate it because it leaks, which makes it more of a bpv.

Corksport has a bigger core and better piping route than hiboost. corksport FTW! since the perrin is no longer available.

I am not sure how the all the piping is routed on the corksport. But when I was on the FMIC buyers market. I choose not to go with the hiboost for one reason. Way too much piping. I dont like how long the piping route is. I would much rather make some slight cuts here and there. Not a big deal. Just make sure its done cleanly. On a sidenote. I absolutely love my kit. The turboxs BOV sounds amazing also.

Guys have a question here about intercoolers. Am thinking of going fmic but , have heard a few guys say that the sidemount is better ( unless you are going past 10 psi ) and that a fmic will cause the car to be laggy.I am considering the corksport unit but as i do not plan to go above 10psi would the side mount be a better choice . Please need all the input i can get on this !!!!!
