HiBoost Turbo install Part II

The Hi boost kit is a very nice kit, They have been making manifolds and other cast parts for years for other BIG name companies.

Hey 905MP3, if you get a turbo I must come see it. I live in Lodi and work in Middleton.
Are you the other Blue MP3 in madison? DoomerMP3 lives on the west side and has a blue one too.

There is a yellow MP3 that is always at Best Buy on the west side, he must work there.

You might trade ECUs with someone with a P5 before you go turbo. I think there is a few around that would want the extra MP3 power.

Later,
Tim

I was in Madison only a year ago. . .with a blue MP3. . .
Ooh. . .and I have a turbo! :D

Time for a Madison Protege meet!

And not to totally thread jack, the HiBoost kit looks VERY good.

trobbins,
I am planning on purchasing a turbo kit. At this point in time I'm not truely sure exactly which turbo kit I want. I'm thinking about Hiboost because of the Haltech but I'm still not really sure. I now have the money for a complete set up but the decision making part is toughest. I guess I don't want to worry too much about fixing broken parts after when I install the turbo.

I'm planning on sticking with my ecu. I'm actually looking for a turbo kit that would work with the MP3 ECU. I was looking at Hiboost but still not tooo sure if it will work as well as on a p5.

Madison Protege, lets meet!

NOTE: I apologize to all of you for not staying on the topic.

Haltech mapped for BC

pirana why you need to send back the f-10 to juan

He wanted to get the Boost controller option on the Haltech F10.

We had to map the Wastegate maps for his car, add a couple of wires and add the solenoid that actually controls the pressure going to the actuator.

Now, all kits come pre mapped and pre wired for the boost controller option. If you want the upgrade, we just send the solenoid and the control trim box to adjust the boost from the cockpit.

Sorry for the delay, as you can tell its late at night and just came of work.

To all you with doubts about the HiBoost kit, let me tell you my experience. I had doubts too. Speacially since I was the first to fork over the cash. Nodody had received this kit, so I was going by their website and with the hopes that I would get my kit on the mail soon. Let me tell you that ever since I got it I have been extremely impressed by the fabrication, actual product and service. Yes it took me a long time to install, but I'am that picky...and that should give you confidence that this is the kit for you. This is my first turbo kit, but I have been around racing for awhile, specially on the rotary front. In the begining I wished it was a Garrett turbo, now, I'am in love with the IHI. It performs flawlessly and in my opinion looks better. The fitment of the parts, the manifold are excellent, they look great, and there is nothing bad I could say. I love my car more than ever, its a new car. I know that is early in the process, but I considered my money well spent. I'am working on posting all my pics, so you guys can see more detail of the kit and what it takes to install, there are over 60 pics and I need to find a host. Oh well hopefully some of you guys will see the car this Saturday so you can post your opinions (I think this has been my longest post ever)

emmmmmmmmm. that 259whp looks nice :D :D

notice i have a kit sometime down the road in my want list ;)

HIBoost TS: it says in your sig 260 WHP @ 14 PSI 13.8 @ 105 MPH... is that the best you could do in the 1/4, or is that because of traction issues and did that car have LSD? Oh and Im in no way saying that 13.8 is bad! Just curious. Thanks...

I want HIBoost too!

I think that the 13.8 was ran at a lower psi , i don't think they have run it at the track with the 14psi yet.

Familia323,

The 13.8 was done at 12 psi and stock injectors. We haven't taken the car with the boost at 14 psi and larger injectors.

The car was run with the stock tires and stock tranny. No LSD no slicks. Just an ACT clutch.

We won't take it back until we get a set of slicks and a LSD.

We have to correct the signature. We mean the best WHP so far and the best 1/4 mile.

Nice, 13.8@105, Definatley traction issues. That's putting some power down, well to the wheel...(burnout) IHI's are nice, had one on my stang. Spooled really quick.

So at what boost would you recommend extras (larger injectors etc.)?

Just curious. I don't have a P5 (yet), but I want this kit when I get one. 8 PSI sounds sweet, but I'm wondering what I'd have to spend to run 10 to 12 PSI occasionally.

I guess I'll just call when I'm ready and discuss this one on one.

PS - Mazda should thank you for playing a part in selling a few more P5's. I'm sure many people were on the fence due to the power issue. This kit will certainly "blow" them over.

I'd say over 10 psi larger injectors are a must unless you have an adjustable regulator.

The perfect combination for higher boost is turbo + intercooler+ full engine management system (up to 14 to 15 psi) Above this, forged internals.

Cool. I think someone asked you this before, but the pump can hang at 14 PSI?

We have an electronic fuel pressure gauge on our car. On the last dyno test done at 14 psi, the fuel pressure was ok to the redline at 14 psi. This is with the stock fuel pump.

maybe this is a dumb question .. but are the turboed cars a lot faster than stock mps or faster at all .. ? jsut curious ..

Well, they are faster since we are running higher a psi than stock MSPs, and since we have better charge cooling and mapable fuel, we can run higher psi's. Now there are some MSPs running the same boost we run that do pretty good.
