Hiboost Install Problems, need HELP!

So I began my Hiboost install this weekend. With the help of Brian(BlkZoomZoom), we got some stuff done, but the fit and finish of the kit is really fishy. Some parts, most specifically the downpipe and intercooler, seem like they came off of other cars (used), and parts are missing from the kit! I am so very very PISSED right now that I can't install this thing.

Specific complaints:
1) I have no studs and nuts for the Head/Manifold. I need 8
2) I do not have the new radiator bracket
3) The downpipe I was sent does not have a bung for the second O2 sensor like the one shown in the instructions, and appears to be a used unit (it's rusted and a little beat up).
4) The cast intake pipe has five different holes in it which are threaded, but I only have one bracket and no real instruction as to how the pipe should be mounted or those holes will be filled.
5) The supplied fitting for the oil pan required a signifigantly larger hole than the directions called for.
6) There is an alluminum piece with a bung supplied that looks as if it is supposed to connect to the radiator and negate the need to drill the water neck, but the directions don't say anything to that effect.

I need these problems solved as soon as possible, as my Pro5 is my daily driver, and I am currently without a car (thank God I carpool). Based on the reviews I've read of Hiboost's customer service, I'm sure that this problem can be fixed soon. I've PM'd and emailed Juan, and I will fax him tomorrow if he doesn't respond.

Has anyone else had problems of this sort with Hiboost? I'm really hoping that I didn't get hosed...

this is there p5 turbo kit right? i have NEVER heard of any problems with the quality of the p5 turbo kit yet.... bump so juan can see this

I won't be able to help you all this stuff but here's a start

Can't help you much here

Do you have AWR motor mounts? Front and rear? If you do... you don't really need the new radiator bracket... there is enough clearence. The bracket is used for clearence on engine movement

The downpipe doesn't come with a O2 bung... The second O2 sensor isn't needed for this kit. But you can have one welded in if you wanted.

where are these holes located... Most of the holes in the cast intake pipe are for the mounting brakets and a hold for the oil feed line.

Not sure what this alluminum piece is... i had to tap the water neck. Pic?

Juan has done some changes to the kit from when he made the instructions. Hope this helps a bit

Update: Juan just PM'd me

1) The studs are in the mail
2) No, I don't have the AWR mounts (front is in the plans). The rad bracket has been deleted from the kit. The new "push" fan creates the clearance
3) Yup, no O2 bung. The one in the pic was for testing purposes. Question: won't I throw a cel? I'm still not thrilled at the state of the pipe.
4) I did inventory and I only have one bracket. Juan says I should have two
5) I'm not sure either, but the fitting is on, so I'm not gonna sweat it.
6) The piece is designed to go between the water neck and rad and negates the need for drilling, just like I thought. This is VERY cool, as drilling and tapping was not something I was looking forward to.

All in all, I just want to finish up this install and get my car running again. All this carpooling and borrowing the GF's car is cramping my style.

You shouldn't throw a cell with the second O2 sensor removed... The ECU wiring will solve this problem

You are good to go once the Studs get there...

I have ran the kit for 1 year...and 30,000km + and NO CEL whatsoever....

Its good that you have the new piece for the water neck...taping was tricky but still a good design.

The holes are FILLED with bolts..they should be in the kit.

Juan manufactures these kits in BULK...he supports so many areas of North America. I am sure that the "rust" is minor and a reult of both the casting process+sitting on shelf with all the other pieces.

Juan ALWAYS takes care of his paid customers... ALWAYS.

I recently installed this kit and the intercooler piping looked used to me also(bannged up and scratched). Use the reducing 90 to go straight up from the intake side of the turbo, then connect the intake casting to it. It should come out of the turbo make a 90 degree turn facing straight up and then turn and go straight over the turbo. The hose coming out of the driverside of the valve cover goes to the barbed fitting on the intake casting.
The aluminum fitting (I recently found out is for the coolant sensor)I didn't use I just tapped the water neck. Mine didn't come with the radiator bracket either so I just used the stock one. As for their fax the number on their website isn't current, and sometimes Juan does take a while to respond to emails, but he will respond. I installed mine 3 weeks ago and just got it running last friday on the stock ecu(waiting on my new haltech) , and now the impellers of the turbo are scraping the inside of the housing. Needless to say I'm pretty frustrated too because my car is my daily driver and I've been renting a truck the past three weeks. If you need any pics of how I connected anything let my know and I will post them.

Yea 2 of my pipes for my Hiboost FMIC kit looked used too, they were all scratched.

i think you'll probably find that these "scratches" for you newbies, was probably just the mandrels marks from where the pipe was held while being bent....

All parts sent in all kits are brand new and never used before. Wiredone is right. Some of the scratches are the bending machine clamp marks. Pretzellogic received the kit since July, so some parts may be rusted by the humid weather.

There is no need to replace any radiator brackets and yes the aluminum casting is a new part to make it easier on the end user to avoid the tapping of the water neck.

this is the exact reason i asked if he had recently received the kit, if you just let s*** sit, it will most likely rust...so i don't think juan can be at blame on that...

I may be a "NEWB" to this forum but I can tell the difference between scratches and marks from the mandrel pipe bender. I can post pics if it pleases you. Not like I'm ragging on Juans kit I'm pleased with it except for a couple of things and Juan and I are working those out.

I may be a "NEWB" to this forum but I can tell the difference between scratches and marks from the mandrel pipe bender. I can post pics if it pleases you. Not like I'm ragging on Juans kit I'm pleased with it except for a couple of things and Juan and I are working those out.

Whatever you think is not up to the quality you expected, let me know and will be more than happy to help you get a replacement. I did this with a customer in Vegas who wanted his car for a show and we did a special treatment to his parts. Since we have all parts in stock, they may get scratched with other parts. So let me know or send me pictures if you can of the actual piece.
