well im on clubprotege.com the protege/323/familia boards seem to be alot more helpfull/fun then the escort ones

Does the escort share some of the same parts as the mazdas? I know probes are similar. I haven't heard anything about escorts.

yes. only the escort GT, LXE, and mercury Tracer LTS shares the mazda derived BP05 engine/tranny combo. chasis is pretty much the same thing too.
i call mine a "cosworth 323" lol
