Hey boys and girls... New to the boards.. Future P5 owner. Came on here to check out the boards and see what bad things I can find out about my new ride. lol I'm from Ontario Canada. Anyone neighbors around?

This saturday I am buying my car which is a 2002 protege 5. Has 68000 kms which is roughly 42000 miles. Fully loaded, yellow. Can't wait. Sold my 93 mazda mx6 and I was searching, and this mazda came up and i couldn't pass it up..

Well, i hope to hear and tell lots of stories, and meet many members here.

Side note - my car is staying 100% stock. It was the reason i sold my mx6.. too much money invested.

Welcome to the forum, and don't hang around here too much if you expect it to stay that way.
My money is on that it doesn't.

no no.. trust me.. i've grown out of it.. i'm not 18 anymore.. i dumped about 20g into my 93 mx6.... and thats about it for me.. sold it off cheap.. and i am going stock... I didn't even go manual.. good ol' automatic for me!

I registered to this site to learn more about it and get help with issues when they come up.. and to send my adivce when needed.. not here to find after market parts and hints to make more power..

Stock = nice!

I second this :D and welcome ... the Pro's are great little cars if you take care of them.

welcome.......just don't start modding because once you start, it is hard to stop!!!!!!!

Welcome...I'm not in ON, NB for me :)

You'll love the P5 it's a blast to drive summer and winter...and I'm keeping mine stock as well except for a few minor things...you'll find a lot of information on here for every situation. Hope you enjoy your new ride as much as the rest of us do ;)

Welcome and more power to you for staying stock. I joined in January with no intentions of modding either....well it didn't last too long. lol Enjoy!

Hi

Welcome to the forums! Your in a great bunch! You'll find a lot of information everything from maintenence to modification :D.

Enjoy your stay and don't be shy - thats what makes this board better.

sweet! sounds like i'm going to like it here.. my home for the past few years was the mx6 forum.
And thanks for the tip.. but i know, once you start modding its hard to stop.. I stopped at 20g on my mx6.. The only thing that wasn't done to it was lowered.. It was nice.. BUT i wanted to go something that wouldn't provoke me to do up..
I like the protege the way it looks..

HOWEVER, i am going to change a few things.. Seeing is very important to me and i think upgrading the lights, whether its bulbs or upgrading to an HID kit.. i just like bright... BRIGHT.. kinda sucks the car doesn't come with projectors though...

Welcome and congrats on your purchase of a P5. Get new tires if it's still rolling on the stock Dunlops and you'll be all set. Those Dunlop 5000's suck. :) Otherwise enjoy!!!

Update!

Well heres an update.
I went to pick up the car today.. and before i signed anything ( i havn't paid or put a payment on it yet), i told him I wanted to test drive it to make sure the repairs was made.

WHen I originally took it for a drive, it needed an alignment and the steering wheel wobbled back and forth...

SO of course i took it on the road and with in seconds i knew it wasn't fixed.. The steering wheel still did a wobble shake back and forth, had a minor virbation and it pulled to the right worst then my golfing.... and i suck a golf..

So he said, let me take it for a drive.. he gets in it, it pulls to the right and he is like, its the slope on the road.. And the steerign wheel shook (wobbled), and he's like, its because i'm nto holding onto the steering wheel.

Well i'm sorry, this is not my first car. i've been driving for almost 10 years. I know a steering wheel should not do that.. I know when a car is pulling to the right.. So what do i do.. I take their beater doner car, its a crappy ford taurus that runs like crap, and it drives better then the mazda. SO this proves, its no slope on the road..... The car simply needs some repair and alignment.

ANYWAYS, does anyone know what would cause the steering to turn back and forth quick? They also used the excuse that they are low profile tires.. I have drove a lot of cars with low profile.. my mx6 had 40's.. It never had the steering wheel do that...

you're right it probably is out of alignment.

as for the shaking and pulling to the right you may have a seized caliper or whorped rotor...low profile tires or any tires for that matter do not act that way unless when they installed the tires they didn't bother to balance them. You have to be leary of the mechanics that the dealership has cause they will rip you off at every turn...I've had nothing but trouble from the mechanic from the place I purchased mine and he went so far as to lie to me so she has never and will never go back regardless of the ****** warranty. Take to a mechanic that you've gone to before and get them to have a look before you sign anything...it may cost a bit but it's better to now before hand.
