i think they shoulda hidden it like ours...(assuming thats the IC in the first pic)

maybe mazda didnt get the point when they got tons of feedback saying they wished the MSP had had a FMIC....

sorry dreeza...already home as of now...i was at some place called baymont i think off of van dyke rd...but im back home in texas as of right now but the pic of that sux lookin thing ill have to check out autoweek here in a min and catch for sure whut it is called and its supposed to compete with the minis or so thats whut mazda says

and vulcanon...they take all the shift knobs off usually and anything that maybe worth value also..even the damn antennas they take all those off too so nobody steals them...but if anyone else wants anymore pics i have quite a few of tons of other cars just hit me up

i think they take them off before the show, when i went to hin in july there wasnt a shiftknob on the rx8.

the ic looks like a tooth.

What the hell is Mazda thinking with that FMIC???? Seriously!! Either give it a REAL FMIC or don't give it one at all! Like someone else said, at least put some mesh over that thing so that you don't embarrass the company!! Is anyone actually going to buy this thing for 26k???

a real fmic? are you ****** kidding me, so its a "fake" one? the size of the ****** thing doesnt matter as long as it works fine, a bigger intercooler isnt always better for efficiency which im sure you probably didnt know..

but what does matter is that it looks gay. if it didn't give anymore gains, I would still get a bigger fmic.

look at the first pic, it looks like the pipes go straight across the bottom, which would mean upgrading to a bigger intercooler would just be a matter of cutting the pipes and putting in the intercooler. but they should just paint it black as is

well, no one has the CORE size, for all we know it could be a tall intercooler, and like jred said the pipes do seem to make it ez for a wider front mount...which blocks the radiator more which is probably why mazda didnt put a huge one in

jred..the 2nd pic is of the hydrogen rx8 motor and tranny and the hydrogen tank...and that intercooler is like the one on the msp...small but they stuck it down at the bottom for some odd reason

With all due respect, please take your head out of your ass! When I said REAL FMIC that (obviously) wasn't meant to be taken LITERALLY!! LOL OF COURSE it's REAL!!! I realize the size doesn't make it "fake" but come on!! it looks freakin STUPID!!! if you don't believe me... ask the many others who have already posted similar comments, or just wait for many more to come!! (btw: that TOO wasn't meant to be taken literally.. .unless you REALLY want to go ahead and ask them!! LOL) bottom line... it looks STUPID!!!

no, looks do matter, and i agree its not the best looking intercooler, but i bet when driving it 75% of people that see it won't even know wtf it is anyhow. Also it looks easily upgradable...or you could make a grill to cover the whole in the bumper up for that matter..

well of course you can make a grill to cover the thing!! but why should you have to??? I mean, if you're droppin 25 grand on a car you shouldn't have to do something like THAT to it!! Out of a dozen or so people who have posted about this, the vast majority have said something negative about this IC. What happens when millions of people see this car? I'm guessing a similar result yielding embarrasment for Mazda. What does that say about them? They should've anticipated this a bit! I mean afterall... they're "car guys" too!! this isn't even debateable... makes the car look STUPID!! I'd STILL consider buying one, with all that said, but my FIRST order of business would be to fix this issue.
