Helpless in Tucson - Engine Transplant

Hey all, Pittsburgh PA boy here, but I have an Arizona predicament. Hope you can help. My bro lives in Tucson and has a '91 BRG Miata that he is basically giving to me. Problem is, he didn't realize that these cars needed the oil changed in their lifetime, so the car sits with its piston through the oilpan!
It is tooooo expensive to load the thing up and ship it back east (in present condition). I am trying to locate someone who can do the heart transplant in the Tucson area so's I can Gumball Rally it back myself.
Its tough enough to find a competant and trustworthy mechanic in your own backyard...imagine trying to do it 2k miles away.
Any info you could supply me is truly appreciated. I wanna get this classic back on the road for the 3 months I will be able to appreciate its top-down capabilities here in the great frozen east!
Thanks

Thanks for the help. I know that if I stay on this, I can track down some good people. My brother said he took the car to a garage where they spoke spanish and he couldn't understand much, so he pretty much gave up. It also doesn't give me a bunch of info to go on. This deal is too sweet to pass up on. I appreciate the help

Here is a quote from Geoff with a supercharged Miatia on AZMC.

My bad for not paying attention the past few months.

Yes, I have a suggestion. It's Tucson Foreign Car Specialists. John Diamante is the owner. The address is 6947 E. 22nd St., Tucson, AZ 85710. The phone is 520-747-5623. Tell him Geoff with the screwed pooch silver Ubercharged Miata recommended him. He still uses me as the Poster Child for how not to go FI. ;D ;D OTOH, he & his crew stepped in & rebuilt an engine that had a SC that they didn't install in the first place. Kind of like a person going to a different surgeon after the first surgeon messed up...It is truely amazing how quickly crossing the in/out lines to a Oil Filter Relocation Kit can schmuck up an engine... ::)

Mike's Place would be another highly qualified recommendation. Mike & his shop know Miatae like no other. I only wish they were a little bit closer.

Thanks again, I called sabrina and she recommended Mikes...I shot an email out and am still waiting for a response. I may call...
I am excited about this last response, it is only 10 miles from where the car sits
THanks again for all your help
Tim
