02 protege 5
i got a 02 protege5 with 200,000 miles and am lookin for help

my first thing is i was wondering if i can get new rims for my car... sick of spending $100 just for the rubber on the tires. all i know is i need a 5 bolt pattern but i dont know what rims will fit over the calipers.

Second thing is there is something wrong with my brakes. They paulse really bad when i drive in general but dose it worse when i break at high speeds. i think rotor is warped but there is a lout clicking sound when i start to come to a stop and when i am coming to a compleat stop the clicking turns into a loud sqeak. plan on replacing rotors cuz i just did all the break pads if any one knows what it could be if not the rotors please let me know.

1. Try Mazda3 rims (check the FS section)...

2. Yep! Your rotors sound pretty warped to me. Inspect the 'break' pads and calipers for binding, even wear, etc.

  1. The smallest rim that fits is 14"; the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm center bore, and the offset should be around 45-50mm (very important for wide rims).
  2. Like P-Funk! said, your rotors are shot probably because one or more of your calipers has seized. You should buy new pads and rotors for all 4 corners and be sure to include the price of a couple new calipers in your budget just in case you can't repair the seized one(s).

thank you for the info ill look into it if any one else knows how hard is it to change out the timing belt ... got a whole garage with any tool i can think of... and if not i can get my hands on it car at exactly 195k miles think i should change that befor i end up with a bent valve >.<
