Off and on I am getting noises from my front passenger corner. Sometimes when I slow down to stop I sound like a school bus, but only on that one side.

I am 90 minutes from the closest mazdaspeed dealer and we haven't talked since I bought the car. I also don't want to go all the way back to stock for a sound (downpipe = b**** or $$). When I had my winter tires put on the guy said he couldn't see anything wrong. Car only has 11,000 miles. Ideas????

this might be the same thing that i have been hearing. is it like a squeaking noise?

damn smoking turbo and now this?

I know right? Just shoot me in the face! I'm also having MAJOR overboost problems and getting over pneumonia for the second time this fall. Plus with all my money s*** at home, I am thinking about not risking a blown motor warranty battle (cause look at my record.....) and going all the way back to stock and maybe trading in the car. ****, I dunno, lots on my mind between the fam, work, etc.

Anyway.... yeah, its a squealing that I'm getting only occasionally right before I come to a complete stop. I figured maybe it was the cold, but the other corners aren't doing it and there is no physical evidence of anything

:: phew :: sorry, had a long day. thanks for the support guys

I think I've had the same problem as you. Didn't happen when I first got the car but after a couple weeks, I'd hear a squealing when I creep really slow or try to come to a stop. The sound slowly got quieter for me and eventually disappeared in about 1-2 months. Hope yours stops making those annoying sounds soon.

Ninkumpoop (laughed at your user name btw) did yours start when it got cold or did it start and end randomly? Any idea of what it was?

ANYWAY I found that the cap on my brake fluid resevoir wasn't tight and was pretty dirty and greasy. Wiped it all down. Maybe I've got air in the system. Fluid is a bit low but closer to the full line than anywhere else. So far I haven't gotten any squeaking tonight. The morning drive seems to be where I hear it, lets see........

UPDATE!!

So far, no more noise. I don't see how it could be a loose brake fluid resevoir, but let's hope that fixed it! :D

UPDATE!! Tonight I swapped out my ets 3.5 for my factory tmic, and also ripped out the battery to put in my corksport intake w/turbo inlet.... very long story...

I noticed the same damn thing with my brake resevoir. It was leaking from the cap.

Sorry for late reply.

It stopped after a few months on its own. I did absolutely NOTHING to it and it slowly got quieter and less frequent. It happened regardless of heat/cold and whenever it wanted to. I believe it happened more frequently when I creeped extra slow with my wheel turned. I went back to my dealership and they couldn't reproduce the noise back when it first started, which was REALLY weird. They did a check-up and found no problems, neither. It's gone now and no problems have occured since.

Mine came back but it is FAR less frequent and much quieter. Guess it's a cold weather thing. I changed the brakes for a friend of a friend on his volvo a few months back. Called up "my car sounds like a bus when I brake" and think maybe its a cold thing????
