Hello Friends, I'm quite new here, but I remember reading somewhere that the stock intake could be modified/ certain parts deleted for slightly better airflow. I've been searching the forums for a couple hours now for a how-to, but I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Perhaps you can help?

block all holes throughout the stock intake and cut out the part of the radiator grill by the intake runner to maximize airflow.

I've done the mod myself and its worth every minute of the work you put into it. I have pictures as well but I can't upload from my phone so later tonight I will hook you up with pics.

What it should look like after you are done.

Tape up the holes in the air filter housing.

Tape up the holes under the intake.

i cut the stock bracket then trimmed and re-shaped the reservoir section and mounted it closer to the fuse box. the pipe is an intake pipe from a 1989-1993 holden commodore cut down with a section of the mazda "bong" held on with cable ties before using 2-part adhesive designed for plastic bumpers, the lower airbox was also opened up flush with where the piping attaches, i also added a second airbox mount from a spare box to the unused location where the box bolts up near the battery. after doing this mod i believe that the right size stainless exhaust could be bent up, trimmed to fit, mounting plate welded on so that anyone could just trim the box and bolt/rivet on.
