HELP! Squeaky Brakes!

Just about every time my car has been sitting for awhile, the brakes (right side-rear?) will squeak for the first 30 seconds or so of driving. I have been told by two dealerships, that this is normal and mostly a product of a wet climate (Pacific NW). Anyone else have this problem and/or know of a fix as it is pretty aggravating and somewhat embarrassing. Oh yeah, btw, it's a 03.5 MP5.

I get the samething especially with the cold weather, but once you get moving and you apply the brakes the pads are warm enough so the noise goes away. It may have to do with the fact that the brake pads are semi metalic and the metal is rubbing the disc. Then the pad expands due to the heat and its fine as ever. I guess this is it, anyone.....

Same problem here, I'm not in a cold weather city but every morning the same happen, curiuosly only the rigth front seems to squeak. I'm really intrested in knowing if there is a way of "adjusting" the pads/calipers in order to avoid this.

YES YES YES same problem here..infact my brake noise was coming from the front axle, and it would squeak when i didnt use my car for 3 hours or if its too cold

I wonder if maybe it's some lack of lubrication or maybe its the rusty build up that makes it sound like that

i have the feeling that the pads are rubbing somewhere on the calipers

what it is a little wear indicator on the pads, well i am not sure if our cars have them, but i know alot of card do. If not then we have the sensor, where there is a little pin that is connected to a sensor, when the pad gets too low, the sensor starts to stick out and rub against the rotor.
Also, does it happen when you turn? If so its the calipers, the caliper bolts need to be tighten. Just over time they come a little loose cause of the weather, water, heat, etc... If you can grab the caliper and move it a little, then there is your problem.

Thanks all. It's good to know that it is not just my car.

AS far as when it happens, it doesn't really matter. Just for about 30 seconds-1 minute. No matter whether I am running straight or turning.
