Alright guys... need some help here...

im a dummy to lowering..... know nuthing about it....

i understand the struts on my MP3 are aftermarket Tokico ones and are tuned so they will work fine with aftermarket springs...

but i know nuthing about spring rates..etc etc...

im most likely going with the H&R sport springs which lowers 1.3" F&R.......

so my question is........

How long would my struts last with the H&Rs in there?

i've heard many ppl having to buy new struts because their struts go after a few months - 1 year....

thanks.

all depends on your roads and how you drive. if you want to take the safe option (i strongly recommend this), get your standard shocks revalved to suit the new springs. that way you'll get the best ride (both handling and comfort) for the springs you install.

and you're springs and shocks WILL last much much much much longer

i can tell you its not gonna be a few months unless you drive like a maniac and go off roading. ive got no problems after almost 8k miles, so im sure youll be good. but eventually, youll prolly need new struts.

What is the spring rate of the H&Rs?

Does it match with the rate of the struts?

i dunno what im talking about... so please jump in here guys lol

i drove my civic with race springs then with sports springs on the stock struts for many years and not a single problem with them... i'm sure mazda's stock struts are up to the task for at least a few years if not more....

revalving probably doesnt cost that much. here in australia it costs $80 per shock (so that's about $55usd). not much cost for a better handling car.

basically you can get any shock to suit whatever spring you choose

many years as in how many years?

not necessarily...after all we do have tokicos and kybs...i know theyre not aftermarket, but im sure theyre better quality than a lot of struts
