Still miss my MSP...
:
2003.5 MSP Sunlight Silver
Hey, I was looking to finally get an MSP tomorrow (saturday) and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. Like what should I expect to pay before rebates? ie above invoice, below invoice or at invoice...what about after rebates and whats going on right now? Also is there anything that I could show the dealer to prove that I know what I should be paying so he doesn't try to screw me over and prevent me from having to walk out like 5 times before I get a good price?

Thanks

Invoice is somewher around 17k Rebates change from time to time. Find out the rebates and make sure you don't get screwed on interest. Go to your bank and try to get a loan from them first or ask them how much would you interest rate be.

Best tips I can offer (bought two new mazdas recently)..... Go in on the last day of the month...and already have the name of another mazda dealership AND a salesperson that works there in mind and say s*** like "Well Ken Hicks over at Morande MAzda is gonna give me 1500 off and a car bra so I am going to buy it from them....unless"....my dealership gave me my 03.5 Speed for a STEAL yo....they called me a bastard for coming in on the last day and pricing them. hehehehe fuckers

They underestimated your sneakyness LOL(laugh)

I just bought a Speed two weeks ago. I ended up paying roughly 16,500 + TTL, or 17,800 out the door.

Liberty Mazda e-mailed me the next day saying they'd do 17,084 out the door. Doh! If only I was a little more patient. But, I liked the salesman and received value from his help. The dealership also beat my credit union's rate and gave me 3.8% for 60 months.

These rebates (2500 customer, 500 dealer) should be in effect until at least the last day of February.

Good hunting!

Oh yeah, already am planning on going tomorrow since it is the last day of the month if you don't include sunday when car dealerships aren't open

Also, if you plan on financing through the dealership and they give you an insane rate like they did to me (21.99%), pretend like you are calling a credit union or something because financing is the last step in the process and they have a lot of leeway on the rate cuz after I got my lower rate by calling my credit union (8%, still high but good with my credit history) they said they could knock it down 5 mor points to 16%....I was like whatever im still refinancing with my credit union at whatever rate you try to give me.

Here is a great tip. Go to a Subaru Dealer and buy an STi

Its funny you say that because im going to a subby meet saturday and there are plenty of scoobs that wanna check out my setup. Many have drooled over the suspension as well. My friend has a rex and hes a little jealous, maybe thats cuz he has to spend an extra 1k for a nice stereo, 1k for new wheels, and 2k for a better suspension setup. Hmmm, STi=30K, MSP=16K? 14K more for AWD, yeah the engine can prolly handle well over 400hp, but yep youll need that much power to pull an extra 350lbs just for the AWD :)

Buy and MSP, its a fun car, I wont ever give it up now. Well maybe for a S4.

Hey, what the hell was the point of that post subaruwrx? If the guy wanted to spend a s***-load more he would be over on some Subby board asking you about buying an STI. Maybe you were just trying to be Captain Obvious and point out that the STI is faster, so he should get it based on that? GREAT POINT! Well **** it, he should buy a Benz E55 AMG then. Screw that pussy-ass STI...why would he want that or an MSP when he could just go out and get an S4, a Corvette, or a M3. CHRIS704....don't buy the MSP...clearly you aren't aware of the fact that ONLY for THOUSANDS more you could have an STI!!!!!

I came very close to doing this. But, I was very disappointed in the interior of the STi. The performance is stellar, but just think what you're looking at 90% of the time - the interior. It just didn't fit a 30K+ car. Now if it were around 25K, there would be one sitting in my driveway right now.

So, I went the route of spending the same amount of money on a Mazdaspeed Protege and an RX-7. :)

invoice is around 19540 or 19455, something like that...

cthomp, I paid 20,000 after some rebates. It seems like everything is more expensive in Colorado. They told me that the price they gave me was around invoice I believe.

And also DSM2MSP, I have cf eyelids on my car from DGMotorsports, they are a classy piece for the car, why is it that I cant reply to your post now?

Good for you. Do your headlights wink also?

Invoice should be 18,350 plus 500 for freight. Freight you can have knocked off if your a good negotiator. Also, I wasnt looking all the way through my reciept and noticed they added 125 bucks onto my price for an "appearance package". So make sure you find out what that is and you can also have that knock off also since its a load of crap.

My father just bought his Silver one for $16,200... quite a bit less than I paid for my Titanium.

Thats really got to suck...........................

That your dad is driving the same kind of car as you. He did get a good deal, even though I got mine for 16,300 OTD, of course I had a 1500 dp.

i bought mine

a month ago i have 1200 miles on it already. I got it for 17,800 at 7% so i pay about 370 a month with a few warranties on it. To think of it i have no credit, i think the guy really hooked me up because most dealers if you have no credit they will give you a high rate. If im wrong then i just got screwed lol.
