help installing fog light swith?

hi to all you zoom zoom lovers. I have 09 mazda3. I bought ofter market fog lights and i need to istall the switch. can't gain access to the back panel to remove the dummy cover. looked under the dash and can't see any fastheners to remove the lower part of the dash to gain access to cover plate. dont want to tear apart the cover incase the plug for the lights is connected to dummy plate. any ideas on how to remove the plate without ruining the dash?

To remove the lower driver's dash panel:

-Open driver's door
-grab step plate (over lower edge of door frame) and pull up to release tension clips
-using mini screwdriver remove pop clip from outside driver's kick panel
-grab kick panel and pull towards back of car to release
-grab weather stripping along front/bottom of door frame and pull away from the frame to release it. You only need to remove enough to clear the lower panel
-Remove phillips head screw attaching hood release to lower panel
-Insert flat head screwdriver above center of hood release and push up (into panel) while pulling the release mechanism towards the back of the car.
-Grab lower panel and pull down/back to release the tension clips holding it to the dash
-depress buttons on top/bottom of the dummy switch and it will slide out the front.
-slide new switch in from the front until it clicks in.
-Reinstall in reverse order.
