ok so ive recently downloaded call of duty which seems to work fine though i havent actually played it.

i also downloaded age of mythology but it only has two iso files and no like bin or cue or whatever files. i used nero to burn the iso file to the disc, and maybe im doing something wrong, but it doesnt work. it just burns the file onto the disc, it doesnt expand it or anything...is there something im doing wrong or something i am missing with the files ive got?

You have to select the 'Burn Image' option, I think it's in the file menu but I'm not positive.

An ISO file contains all the information needed to burn the image, while the bin & cue format needs both files

hum.. in nero you just go "Burn Image" and it ask you for your file name.... it supports .NRG / .ISO and .CUE's .. so it should work fine.

yea i did that, im pretty proficient at nero...i thought there was a setting or something i forgot. i choose the iso file and it didnt work. when i put the cd in, it just opens up the cd folder with the *.iso file...when i burned call of duty it starts up with the install screen like it should.

I assume that you paid for your copy? If not, (gun) but if you did, thank you (yippy)
copy of what? the game or nero?

penguin - ill try alcohol

you can also use IsoBuster to check inside the ISO file.

But Alcohol 120% is a good idea... those retards that did that program should have used a different file extension if its not compatible with other programs.

try daemon tools thats what i use to make sure image files work..

Agreed. Go here Mat. You don't need to burn them. This sets up a Virtual CD rom drive, and mounts any iso, bin, cue, ccd, anything. It also runs much faster since it's from the hd.

Once installed, right click the red icon that it made next to you clock, and mount the iso or bin.cue etc. It should autorun from there. That's it. No wasting cd's on games, instantly start playing. It's all I use.

daemon tools work really well... it has saved me at least 100 cds (loading games and trying them out without actually burning them and wasting a cd cuz the game sucks... LOL)

if you are missing cue files, you can just make one in a text editor and then have it reference the bin file.

yea it worked great newf, thanks. actually, the files i downloaded CAME with daemon tools but they werent described in the instructions and i had never heard of them before lol.
