HELP BIG TIME!!!! (Problems with MP3 stereo)

Hey Guys,

I know I am in the wrong section but I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with their Kenwood that came with the MP3. My stupid Screen is doing all kinds of weird things. Black lines everywhere and the images are not clear.

I tried to clean it with Alcohol..which worked for about 5-10 minutes...now the only way I could view my settings is if I take off the code so it looks like a regular screen. Anyone else have this problem?

Mine was doing the exact same thing. When I change the volume, the volume meter looks squigley and blurry. I took my car in today for a wheel alignment and I had them take a look at my deck and they ordered me a new one, it's still under warranty, if your car is still under warranty..take it back to the dealership and they should replace it for you.

Our z828 radio has all kind of problems, I think most of the MP3 owners have his radio changed already, including me.

I was told by the dealer that it's from over heating the radio. They claim it's from listening to a lot of MP3 formated cd's. I had mine replaced for that reason in March.

This does not seem possible...I am not sure but I believe a CD MP3 formatted or not spins at the same speed the difference being the amount of data being read with the mp3 being less

Yep, oliver is correct, although technicaly I can back him up. To say an MP3 causes more heat is pure BS.

z828 replacement

For those of you who had their z828 replaced, was it replaced with the same model? Mine started displaying vertical line when pressing the volume button. It was sent to Mazda almost 2 months ago and now their telling that they will replace it with a new one. Since our cars will/have 4 years soon, I'm wondering if this model is still available...

no, most model radios only last one year and then are replaced. This is true of the z828. They will likely replace it with a refurbed z828 or MSP kenwood head unit.

dam wish mine was still under warrenty. i still got mine workin fine.... but only have like 26k miles on it, i play alot of mp3s n listen to the radio n at a average at volume 21 the whole time i drive.

Yeah mine works fine, but the slightest bump or the biggest bump it'll skip.Its very un-predictable and when i power shift from 1st to 2nd it'll skip.

mine does the same thing, mine doesn skip when i shift though... just when i hit a bump to hard. but i think most cd players do that. not that sure, this is like the first aftermarket radio (nice radio) that i ever owned. lol n it stock haha

My last aftermarket Never skipped unless my car almost bottomed out so I dont know.
