help about shift stick

i have auto mazda protege 2003 Lx. i would like to change the shift stick. so how can do it? also what would happen if i cut overdrive wire?

what would happen? well you wouldnt have overdrive anymore obviously...

joe so is that a push down button on the top of the knob so it can go in to gears man like p,n,d, 2,1 man? also did you make a button for the overdrive or did you just cut it man?

yes, the whole knob pushes down and the od button is on the console, just drilled a hole and popped the witch in...also, the only thing i did with the ebrake is add a leather boot

did you go to the manual i posted for you? (scratch)i couldn't possibly give you better step by step directions....please check this out first, if you get in touble by all means post up, okay?(cool)

okay, here it is and please don't take this the wrong way...i and others here want to be helpful, but please read the manual yourself...(hand)..i sent you the manual so you could find all this stuff, i feel like i'm holding your hand here, come on....if you had just scrolled down you would have found it yourself...it probably took you longer to write this message that it would have to scroll down to the end of the page!
