Help a brotha out

A few months ago, I bought a used Magnaflow catback because I'd heard from a number of people that it sounded really nice and I got a good deal on it. Well, I instaled it at the same time as my OBX header and MAM midpipe, removing all my catalytic converters. The midpipe didn't fit with the magnaflow quite perfect and so there was a pretty damn big leak directly under the front seats, but with beaus help and advice, I got it solved pretty quickly. The whole time I had the exhaust installed and was hearing the nasty farting, buzzy sound, I hoped it was just the leak. Like I said, I got the leak fixeed, and it still sounded/sounds horrible. So I'm getting a new exhaust.

My question is, who here has run an aftermarket catback without any cats? Not neccesarily on a P5, but on any protege, any price, that just sounds good. Custom is fine too, jsut let me know the brand of muffler you have. Thanks in advance.

The Magnaflow is 2.25" catback and is a nice piece.The sound is good.When you remove the cat the exhaust tone will get loud and poppy.Put a hi flow cat in it and see if it sounds better.If you are still looking for a new catback, get the Megan or the Bosal.

why not put a resignator in there, that would lower it and remove the popping too.. it will give it that deep tone.. and wont have that raspyness pitch and be insanely loud..

What kind of resinator would be good? There's already one built in right behind the midpipe-catback joint, so what brand/size would be good? Also, where to weld it in? Any help is appreciated.

i saw one in an old post , let me see if i can dig it up..

cant find it, but i know my car had one that was 24 inches long, took it off and now it sounds louder and better, but at certian times it has that raspy nasty sound, i let off the gas a bit and it goes away.. exhaust shops usually have some in stock..
