Hi to all. Found this site while resarching hitches for my 2006 Mazda5. I have a 2006 Mazda5 Sport that I bought back in December of 2005. I currently have over 35,000 miles on it. It is black with aftermarket Diamo Chrome wheels. Will post pics later. Had to put the wheels after the missus blew out 2 tires and bent 2 wheels. Mazda wanted $580 a piece for the wheels, so I decided to go with better looking aftermarket wheels. My 5 has the power moonroof, 6 disc changer, side skirts, and rear spoiler options. I plan on putting a class1 hitch on it in the coming months. I have read many posts in here on this subject. I am planning a trip from Missouri to North Carolina and would like to take my motorcycle on the trip. The bike weighs about 600lbs and the trailer will be around 200 lbs or so. Don't think this should be a problem. Anyways, glad I found this site and plan on contributing as much as I can. (drinks)

You may be one of the very few with an 06 Sport and moonroof now that I see it :D

Anyway, welcome and enjoy the forum!

Thanx for the welcome. I wanted the Manual trans but the woman can't drive a stick, so we settled for the auto. For the longest time, I never saw another 5 on the road here in town, but now it seems they are everywhere. Pretty certain I had the first one though. We bought the popular package like yours, minus the fog lights. Had to have the moonroof/sunroof and the 6 disc changer!

Sounds awkward but wife really liked the fact that it had Manual Tranny. The 06 was bought for her and after me driving it for a couple of years (weekends mostly) trading my car for a 2nd Mazda5 was a no brainer.

I wanted a Touring or Grand Touring this time, but in my area Manuals were almost null (any trim) so another Sport with PEP was the option once again :D

I have definitely entertained the thought of another 5, but I am not quite sold on the new looks. I prefer the clear round taillamps mine has, but maybe the new taillamps will grow on me. I noticed the new ones now have vents in the ac/heater system for the rear passengers. that is definitely a plus. Also ended up driving behind one with a flip down screen for DVD movies. In 06, the option list was very short, now they are making them alot more comfortable to live with. Might be time to trade up?

Yeah, of course it is not that there is NO other car can compare to it, just that my family needs and timing called for another one. I love my cars but I'm getting bored to be honest :)
